The small, but happy group of friends were playing in a small clearing in the forest. They loved to play their favorite game, a simple game really, where one or two wolves would be chosen to try and track down their 'prey', being restricted to a small area. They would meet as often as they could, playing like any pups would. Laughing and screaming, the pups would always go home with a large smile on their face.
Maple, the youngest one of the group, was always the shyest of the group. Always cautious of her surroundings and never sure of herself, Maple was easily the easiest one of the group to be around. As she grew, she became ever more patient and kind, never losing her gentle touch she had when she was little.
Rufus, the second youngest, was always air-headed and was never careful, preferring to see where things took him and go from there. He was possibly the most annoying of the group, but they never stopped laughing at his stupid jokes that he made. As he grew, he became more vigilant and cautious of himself, but never stopped seeing where things would take him, always letting himself get carried away.
Abigail, the middle one of the group, was the most collected of the group, always taking her time to plan. She was the most cool-headed of the group, taking in ideas and using them to form an almost spot-on plan of attack in her mind. As she grew older, she never lost her ability to visualize a plan of attack, but soon became hot-headed when things didn't go as planned.
Julius, the second oldest of the group, was the most vigilant and fastest of the group. He became the most reliable and dependable of the group. As he grew, he learned to never lose sight of his task at hand and stayed as vigilant as ever.
Liam, the oldest of the group, easily had a natural talent for control, most of the time being compared to a leader. He was the most trusted in the group, giving him a lot of power. As he grew older, he was never let himself show any weakness, choosing to strengthen himself more than caring for others.
Together they made a five-some of best friends, always to last forever. That was their promise.
But friendships are never meant to last... they were naive children then, and as they all grew older, they came to understand their duties as adults.
