Running in the rain

It was a relatively cool day. The sky was clear. There weren't any clouds, but the sky was a bit dim. Paul and Art had just gotten out of a meeting they had had with Roy and were walking home together.
"Isn't that wild, he thinks we don't act matu-" Paul was cut off mid sentence when a crackle of thunder rang out. He jumped, as did Art. Out of nowhere it began to rain. Not just rain, but pour. They shrieked and started to bolt. Frantically grabbing at their jackets and pulling them over their heads, they reached their destination. Art held the door open for Paul and as soon as he darted in, Art followed right after and slammed the door behind them. The both of them were trying to catch their breath with all of their might.
"*slightly giggling* Artie *pant* I love you." He smiled a wide smile. Art blushed a bit.
               "What?" He asked.
"I said I love you." He repeated. Art's face twisted in confusion.
              "Why do you say that?"
"Because I do. How couldn't I?" Paul responded. His eyes fixed contently on his partner.
"I don't get you sometimes." Art said, still red in the face. Paul came closer. He stroked the side of Art's face gently and  said
"You're just so precious to me, I can't help it." He kissed his cheek for a bit. Art whined.
                  "P-Paul-"
"Hmm?" Paul brushed a curl out of his face.
"I love you too" he whispered. Paul smiled delightedly and wrapped his arms around Art as he buried his face into his chest.
                      "Okay good."
