I felt soft hands shake me, "wake up." I woke up to jay. I pulled him into a hug, haven't seen him for 9 months. He smiled "you looking good" I smiled "thank you." He pulled me up "now get dressed. We have the conference today." I nodded sighing. I grabbed my outfit for the day; faded skinny jeans, tank top, jacket, and my converse. I shower and dried off putting on my clothes. Fixing my hair.

My glasses laid on the counter, putting them on I followed Jay. "It's good to see you." Mom said smiling and Kevin looked at him. "This is my son Kevin." Ricky said and jay looked at Kevin "if your one of them people who bullies Alex, Ima have your ass doing 100 push ups." Kevin's eyes widen. "Lets go Alex." I nodded.

I was standing there, waiting for jay to get done talking to the principal. That's when I heard snickering. "Look at that-" the girl was caught off by jay who stomped his foot hard on the floor. He was dressed in his military uniform. He stepped next to me, holding the mic.

"Everyone please pay attention, it's in your best intentions." Jay started out, earning a few groans and mumbles. "My name is Jay. I'm Alex's cousin. I'm a soldier, lieutenant. He messaged me yesterday, at lunch time. Telling me all your fuckin stunts. Ashly, Gary, Henson, kelsie, and frank. Please step forward." When they didn't, I knew his soldier was gonna come out.

"STEP FORWARD NOW!" His booming military voice shouted, they flinched and stepped forward. He lined them up in front of me and everyone. "He told me y'all are the main ones. So, Ima tell you and everyone! A few things. Alex is my cousin, my only cousin, I treat him as a little brother. I protect him like he is my own. And the fact that y'all," he was now staring at each and everyone of them in the face "have the nerve to call him names, harass him. Makes me wonder what kind of school this is." He stepped back to me.

"Y'all are bunch of rich snobs, yeah I said it." Everyone started riding their voice "SHUT UP!" He boomed they silence themselves. "I come from a family who works for what they get, y'all have it handed down. That's no way of life. Y'all are spoiled. Now Ima let Alex speak his mind." He handed me the mic, I gulped.

"My name is Alex, I'm 18, and I was originally a girl. I'm a transgender; female to male. This is my complete self. Y'all need to understand that I find shit like, bullying and harassing, and any thing that is insulting. Hurtful. I've been to five schools, this is my sixth. Every school I've been too, has resulted into bullying. This is the first time I ever had to call jay. Cause he is a soldier, he can't always drop his stuff and come here. I haven't seen him in 9 months and I didn't want this to be the way to see him. For the love of god, don't be a snob. My mom worked three jobs two full time jobs and one part time. To get by, we didn't need no help." I said they stayed silent.

"Y'all people, had everything handed to you on a silver platter. While the working class had to WORK for it. I over the summers had to get a summer job. Which didn't pay worth nothing, only 1 an hour. And the fact y'all have the nerve to call me names like, gay, fag, stuff like that. You'd hate it wouldn't you if I did that to you, wouldn't you? I just want actual, cool, true friends. I have two but they don't live near me. And y'all have the nerve to do this." I gave the mic back to jay. He talked about what would happen if they did that at the army. I waited for him, I was ready to go home.
