But guess what, you know that you forgot that you needed to bring the ball and you feel guilty, here's a way to solve the problem, tell your friend the truth, just say, "Yeah I forgot it, sorry man I was in a hurry." Friends be like, "Nah don't worry man, my house is two neighborhoods from the field." Yes, you're gonna say, "Then how long does it get you to school?"
