Hi my name is Aiko Cotton and I'm fifteen years old I live with my great father and step brothers we are a great living family even thought we're poor we still love happily.

One of my step brothers is twenty years old and his name is Rave and next is his young brother Carlos and he is seventeen years old I'm the youngest son out of us.

Both of our mothers passed away they both were very elegant,beautiful,kind,sweet,and care-free women we have ever met I do miss my mother father says we take after our mothers which is true and we love it.

I walked out the little garden we had and picked vegetables and a few fruits before going back into the house " Father I picked the vegetables and fruit" " That's great Aiko now all we need is meat we only here ten dollars today but I promise to get more money don't worry ok Aiko,Rave,and Carlos you guys go into town and get the meat while I start cooking and peeling the vegetables" we nodded and walked out of the house.

Father worked very very hard to give us food and clothing we love him dearly but we can see the light he once had in his eyes fade away our father is a merchant but he doesn't find much or get very much but I hope one day he will.

Well on our walk to the town we heard one of the royal guards say " People of kingdom of Iced Heart we come to you today to say the prince have allowed everyone including the poor and the poorest to his ball in a week from now so he can find his true love that is all " I smiled and so did my brothers we brought the meat from a old woman who looks like she was in pain so we helped her of course.

When we was done helping her she gave us more than 50 pounds of meat we couldn't wait to show father we walked home with the meat "Father Father look at what we have when we made into the house we saw father with a leather whip we must of did something wrong I always take the beating for all of us because Carlos and Rave work so I'll take the beaten.

I took of my torn and dirty shirt along with my ripped pants and put my hands on the wall " Father we helped an older woman today she looked very sick so we helped her father please the whip Aiko we was just trying to be helpful father" " go to your rooms now besides Aiko " " but fath-" " I SAID NOW!!!" Rave and Carlos went to their room and closed the door.

Okay I'll tell the truth my father is abusive and a drunk father tries his hardest he does but it's not enough I fell sorry for father and us.

I felt the whip hit my back two times I cried out in pain I felt two more than four than twenty than the last five I couldn't move afterwards " come and get him now" I yelp " f-f-father there is a ball in a week from this day and everyone is invited including the poor and the poorest people father" he left out nodding his head.

Rave helped me up and Carlos got the first aid kit and treated my bloody,deep,and open wounds I thanked him once he was done if only we had a better life for ourselves.
