Here's to Never Growing Up

by Avril Lavigne

"Hey, I'm gonna go see if I can get some food so maybe we can have an actual meal. Need anything?" she asked walking over to where he sat on the bed.

"No, I'm good I think. Do you need any money?"

She looked down at the remaining few coins in her palm.

Did she need money? Yes. Could this be enough for now? Maybe? Was she going to ask for his money? Hell no.

"I think I should be fine. I'm just getting some little things."

He glanced down to the coins in her hand. She quickly closed her grasp around them, and shoved them in her pocket and away from his eyes.

He rolled his eyes. "Come here," he motioned for her, pulling out a decent sized pouch from under his bed that jingled when he placed it on the mattress beside him. "It's fine, you know. I mean, you are making this for me as well."

She didn't want his help.

Correction-- she didn't need his help.

"I don't need your help."

He raised a brow, giving her a bored expression. "You do realize I already am helping you by letting you stay here, right?"

Well, crap.

She forgot about that part...

"But it's different than taking money from you. And, it's only until I come up with a plan so don't go thinking I'm going to mooch off you and you get to be the hero," she said light-hearted and mockingly. "I'm no damsel in distress who is just waiting for her knight in shining armor to come save her." She swung her arms dramatically before resting the back of her hand against her forehead, and gently placing her other hand delicately on her chest. Looking him up and down, she added, "Actually, it's even worse than that. You are nothing close to shiny. Which reminds me, I think I will do a little laundry today." She smiled down at him with a wink.

He sent her a scowl, obviously noticing her blatant attempt at changing the subject, before getting up and striding over to her until he was mere inches from their noses touching. Her breath hitched but held her place, not allowing him the thought that he had any effect on her. She couldn't very well give him that power over her.

She was a bit of a control freak, that was true. But who isn't? She simply liked the world to do what she wanted it to do. Simple.

He glared down at her like she was supposed to just crumble under his gaze and admit she needed help.

Oh, no! The big bad boy is gonna put me in timeout!

She smirked at the thought of his assumption that she would succumb under his stare so easily. Him having seemed to notice her smile, his lips turned up into their own wicked glare, accompanied by an evil glint in his eyes that glazed over-- warning her of what was about to come. Before she had time to defend herself, though, he had reached out to grab her sides.

She bent over in a fit of giggles, screaming at Evan to stop his tickle attack.

"You little twerp! Stop it!" she yelled at the top of her lungs between the gasps for air that her laughter had left her in need of.

Seriously; if he didn't stop soon, she was going to have brain damage from lack of oxygen. If he ended up giving her brain damage, he'd be a dead boy.

Notice the word boy instead of man. Any male human being who uses tickling as a form of attack is a boy regardless of the amount of time spent maturing. It obviously isn't enough.

When he figured she had had enough torture for one day, he flung them both down on the bed. She rolled onto her back, with her feet sticking off the side of the mattress. Her stomach felt like it had been used as a punching bag.

She winced as she turned over to face Evan. He notice her pain and a grin spread across his face.

What? Was this guy a sociopath? Wasn't the definition of sadistic was enjoying seeing other's pain.

Great to know who she was dealing with.

"So..." he started, the smirk never leaving his lips. "You gonna go get us some food, or what?"

She rolled her eyes before reaching behind her head to grab a pillow, swinging it effectively at his head as she got up from the mattress and walked out the door with a smile on her face.

He's such an idiot.
