Zara got home soaked.
"I'm back mum"
She shouted, taking off her black & white adidas trainers.
No reply.
"Mum? Dad?"
Still no reply.
She walked over to the kitchen and saw it was empty. On the counter lay a little note, her mum's handwriting all over it.
Zara sighed and picked up the note.
It read:

"Hello darling!
My manager called and I had to leave for an emergency business meeting :/
I should come back tomorrow morning, so you're spending the night alone. I'm sorry dear :/
~There's some money I left you pinned on the fridge and there's still some left over pasta from yesterday so you won't starve :D
No house parties, No boys.
         ~Love, mum xoxo"

Zara put the note back where she found it and looked at the fridge. Sure enough a £20 note was pinned to it by her favorite flamingo-shaped magnet her dad gave her when she was little. The beak and leg were cracking but she didn't mind.
She opened the fridge and took out the pasta and a can of sprite.
~
She was finishing up her carbonara when the sound of her 'Alan Walker - Faded' ringtone filled the room.
She took her phone out of her pocket and looked at the caller.
'Nance ✨'
She slid her finger across her phone and answered.
"Hello?"
"Heeey Zaraa"
Nance said with a very specific tone in her voice. The tone she always used when she wanted to get Zara to do something...
"Hey Nance. What do you want?"
Zara replied, rolling her eyes.
"Wellll.... I'm kinda hosting a wild party tonight and I'm wondering if you wanna come girl"
"Nance you know I'm not the 'party type'"
"Pleeeaaaseeee it's going to be fun"
"Ehhh...."
"Pleaaaseee"
"Well... ok fine"
"Yay gurlll! Today at 7:00pm! See ya!"
"Bye..."
Nance hanged up, and left Zara staring at her phone in shock...
~
A few minutes later Zara was in her room trying to pick out an outfit. She couldn't believe that she actually agreed to one of Nancy's stupid parties. Swiping through her outfits she though about previous parties that she attended. They all ended in disaster of course. Eventually settling on a short camo dress and headband, Zara looked at her phone. '18:48' She should get going.
~
Nance lived on the same street as her. Since nursery she and Zara used to play out on, speeding over the limit on their first ever trikes. As Zara walked she smiled at the pleasant memory.
Her footsteps stopped at a grand, oak door of Nancy's huge 6 bedroom house, music already booming from inside. Nance was an only child and her parents were rich businesspeople, selling their own line of luxurious carpets.
Sighing heavily, she knocked a short rhythm out on the door. It was her and Nance's own special knock.
A few moments later an excited Nancy Pallet opened the door and embraced her in a tight hug squealing like a little girl that just received her dream Barbie doll.
"Your actually here!"
"Of course I am"
Zara chuckled a little.
Then Nancy's hand curled around her shoulder and guided her inside.
"I have soooo many things planned!"
~
Inside, teens were going crazy, dancing like they never danced before. Some were holding big juice cartons, most definitely not filled with juice, and some were lying down on various couches talking. All 3 of the downstairs bathrooms were occupied, a concert of moans and claps coming from inside.
God knows what the occupants were doing...
~
Nance guided her further down the corridor into the main sitting room.
"I'll take to the other guests now..."
Nancy said, biting her lip. It was obvious she just wanted to hit her crush Jackson up. A few moments later she was walking back to the door and swirling a strand of hair around her finger.
Zara just sighed, chuckling slightly
as she noticed an armchair was empty.
She took a seat and unlocked her phone, checking through Snapchat stories. Around her teens were dancing to booming pop music and drinking.
Just then, a cold hand lay on her shoulder. A hand she thought she felt on her shoulder before somewhere...
She turned around slowly...
