I have been a great peruser of the internet in the belief that good stories, or inspirations thereof, can be found anywhere. For the most part that belief has held true. One of the popular venues for such things is Reddit, an open forum style website within which are nestled subsections called Subreddits. It is in one of these, called Three Kings, that I've gathered the rituals and inspirations for the stories which are collected in this book. I've taken some liberties with the source material, as must be done with anything in translation from one medium to another, but I'm confident that I've kept the basic essence of each ritual in order to provide the right atmosphere for the story itself. Each story is preceded by an outline of the ritual, or 'recipe' as it's known on the Subreddit, and a brief introduction regarding my personal feelings about the ritual and inspirations for that particular story.
Now, I can't vouch for the veracity of these rituals or the stories of people who have attempted them, but if any of them do happen to tickle your imagination, then I encourage you to visit the Subreddit or any other website detailing these recipes.
