Read this book while listening to Safe And Sound by Taylor Swift
The battle raged around him. Swords clashed. The earth shook. The people of Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter wouldnt give up.
Percy glanced Annabeth behind him. Her blood-matted hair flowed around her, and her stormy grey eyes flashed with determination and strength. She still never looked prettier.
She grunted as she dodged an empousa's hit behind him.
Such a shame she couldn't dodge the next one.
Percy heard a sharp inhale and a thud. He looked around to see Annabeth- with a golden dagger in her chest, and Gaea standing behind her with an evil smile planted on her lips. She dispeared in a plume of smoke before Percy could act. Percy twisted to see Annabeth standing sill with a gaping mouth
"Percy..." she whispered before she slammed onto the ground.
He immediately dropped to the ground and looked around for ambrosia. The only thing on the ground was blood, though.
"Percy..." she inhaled. " Promise me your going to go on."
"No! Dont speak like your going go die." Annabeth's eyes fluttered, threatining to close and never open again.
"Please Percy... Promise me as my dying wish." Hot tears stumnled down Percys face as he sobbed."I cant Annabeth, I can't."
She gave a pained smiled and looked up at the sky. "I love you Seaweed Brain."
There she took her dying breath.
Percys sobs shook the bloody, torn battlefield. Campers stared in anguish as he cried for his lover to come back. The earth shook with his despair.
He clutched her pale, cold hand and violently shook as he silently cried. "Please Annabeth, come back. I need you. Please." She shook her body, crying when he got no reply.
He heard a happy laugh in front of him. He looked up to see a joyous Gaea standing in front of him, laughing like it was sunny and bright.
"Well , Well. Perseus Jackson. I never knew you were so powerful with out your dead gir-"
She faltered when she saw the murderous look on his grimy face. The earth started to shake more and more as he calmly rose up and stumbled toward her."Why." He whispered. "Why. Why did you kill her." Gaea was frozen in fear. "Why?!" He shouted. "She was all I had left, and you kill her." The camp was behind him, whispering in awe for his bravery. Percy smiled."If she goes down, you do to."
Percy threw his sword at her heart with a roar and pierced it with deadly accurate aim. She dissapated into dirt and sank into the ground.
Percy heavily breathed as he watched her remains sink down. The campers would cheer if it werent for their leader trembiling and his bottom lip shaking. He fell onto his knees and a tear trickled down his dirty face. More and more fell down his face as he prayed for the gods to let her come back.
He suddenly stopped crying and reached for his pocket. He pulled out his sword with a swish. His hands trembled as he positioned his sword over his heart.
Campers yelled "No!" as they noticed what he was doing. They ran forward to snatch the blade from his hands, but it was to late.
"I'm never leaving you Wise Girl.''
Percy smiled, and a gasp was heard when he pushed down on the sword to peirce his heart. He fell down to the rocky earth as he died a painless death. He smiled and whispered, "I'm never letting you go, Wise Girl." The campers watched in tears as their hero's light faded out of his broken eyes.
Who knew love kills?
