The silver bells sang as Sierra Grace made her way through the doors of the cozy cafe she visited often. The place was somewhat vacant, and the girl took a seat to wait for her date.
Sierra had met her online. As she was only 19 at the time, Amanda McKenzie's age of 21 was a bit intimidating to her. But Amanda was stunningly gorgeous, and her personality was right, so she took a chance.
---
Amanda was running a bit behind schedule, unbeknownst to the younger girl sitting in the coffee shop. Her hair was nowhere near done, and she was still cleaning up after her last client's session. The blonde didn't know what she would tell her date of her work, but she figured that she would deal with that bridge when she came to it.
---
As Sierra sat at the table, she started thinking about Amanda. The blonde hair and blue eyes first caught her attention, and it was her smile that really drew her in. Amanda usually wore dresses and skirts, as her Instagram photos showed.
Unlike her, Sierra wore black jeans and sneakers everyday. It was also common to see her in a flannel and a beanie, or combat boots and leggings. Her cropped brown hair complimented her eyes nicely- that and the way she talked to her is what grabbed Amanda's attention.
Sierra waited almost 10 minutes alone in the booth in the corner of the Cup of Joy Coffee Shop, and it was only when one of the baristas gave her a dirty look did she order a hot frappe.
Amanda burst in the coffee shop door. Causing all heads to turn and all eyes to be on her as she walked over to the booth in the corner.
"Sorry I'm late, an appointment with a client ran late." The younger girl waved the apology off with a smile.
"What do you want?" Sierra asked, pulling a 20 out of her purse. Amanda stood up and waved the money away.
"I've got it. It's fine." She ignored Sierra's protests and walked up to the counter, ordering a small mocha and two chocolate cookies.
The two girls made small talk for almost an hour before agreeing to walk back to Sierra's apartment.
The ten minute walk, with talking and laughing added, took more than an hour, and it was beginning to get dark by the time the seven story building was in view.
The third floor studio apartment wasn't very big, with only one main room and a bathroom.
Though it wasn't big, Amanda had to it was cozy.
The girls sat on the couch and talked a bit more. There wasn't much they haven't discussed over social media, although this was the first time they'd met in person.
"So, you said you were working with a client before this. What exactly do you do?" Amanda knew this question was coming, and had an answer prepared.
"I'm a sort of... counselor." She tried. Sierra's eyebrows raised.
"Really? For kids, adults...?" It was clear Sierra was interested. Amanda knew that Sierra was taking phycology classes in school, but also knew she wasn't prepared for the answer Amanda was about to give.
"Adults. They come to me and... I..." Sierra, seeing that Amanda was either having trouble or very uncomfortable talking about her career, stepped in.
"I'm taking phycology in school. I'm hoping to become either a school counselor, or a children's counselor, but for right now I'm working for my uncles company." Sierra went on about her uncle and the work they do, and Amanda was grateful for the spotlight to be off of her.
She didn't want to scare the young girl off. She really liked Sierra, and could tell Sierra had similar feelings for her.
The rest of the night went smoothly. Around 1:00 is when Amanda stood up and clutched her purse.
"I think it's time for me to go. I have work tomorrow and I'm sure you do too." Sierra frowned.
"You can't walk around the city in the middle of the night. Stay here, I'll take the couch." Amanda shook her head.
"I don't want to impose. I can't." Sierra stood up, crossing her arms. For an older teen, her look was pretty intimidating.
"Amanda, you're staying. I'm not letting you walk New York City alone in the middle of the night to be groped by druggies." Amanda's eyes widen, and she nodded. Sierra smiled softly.
"Thank you. You really don't have to," she attempted one last time. Sierra ignored her and pulled the couch out, revealing the folding bed.
Half and hour later, both girls were settled in their beds.
Then a few minutes later, they were both asleep.
Hello readers! I hope you enjoyed the first chapter of my story. I know it wasn't written very well, but I'm trying to pass the meeting of the girls and get straight to the rest of the story. The rest of the book will be written better, I promise!
I'll be updating as soon as I can. Happy reading!-Biro_Ace
