"I didn't know it until I met her. " Blake whispered to me. He wouldn't meet my eyes, that's how I knew he was breaking. His dark brown hair was swept to the side of his head, you could see his eyes clearly. They were brown and glossy, making it look like he had glass eyes. It was the tears. One by one, each tear fell down his round face. Every single one reflected off the bright light in this room. His voice cracked as he finally looked up and said, "She never wanted me." He immediately broke down crying. He fell into Seth's arms and cried out from heart break. My eyes met with Seth's. He felt as sorry as I did for Blake. "I'll be right back." He got up and walked out of the room.

"I hate to say this, but I told him." I whispered to Seth. He shrugged and hugged me. His warmth made me feel like there was nowhere I would rather be than in his arms. For the next few minutes, I stayed with him, silent. But it was the most comfortable silence in the world.

"She's outside..." Blake said as he came back into the bedroom.

"Let me go talk to her." I got up. He sat on the bed and looked down. I could tell he was breaking in front of us and there was no stopping the pain until this was over and done with. Of all the time he spent on her, of all the money and love he spent on her... I honestly felt so bad for him. I don't think she meant to hurt him. I don't think she wanted to ruin anything. But me being her best friend, I knew that something was off.

"Desiree," I called out. She was in her car with the window rolled down. She turned her car off and was silent.

"What are you doing here?" She questioned. Her blonde hair flew as the wind hit her. The sun was just setting behind her. It was something out of a movie scene. The summer was over now but it still was hot outside, slowly turning into a warm night. My favorite kind of weather at night. She looked serious and mysterious even though behind the car door, I knew it was just my best friend.

"I'm here with Seth. Blake is kinda a wreck in there. What even happened?" I asked softly. I was standing at her window now, about 2 feet away from her. I could see closely that her face was red and eyes puffy. She had cried too. "It was really awful... one minute we were having such a good time last night and then all of a sudden I decided to be really honest even though I think I was just making up those feelings of not loving him." I was taken aback by her statement. I think this was the first time I really saw Des emotional over something. Her freckles were dark and you could see how tan she was, even with the sun setting quickly. Her lips were chapped and she looked very sickly as I looked furthermore. "Des, why don't you come inside and talk it out with him?" I suggested. "Why would he talk to me? He won't answer my texts or calls. That's why I had to show up here. But honestly I don't know if I would've gotten out of the car." "Good thing Seth and I are here. I'm making you talk to him if its the last thing I do and I have to drag you out by your hair." I joked.

Desiree didn't like that joke. She shook her head, looked me in the eye, and said harshly, "Why does everything have to happen cause you say it does? Can't you just leave some situations alone? Or do you have to plan everything out? If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be here right now and I wish I wasn't." She started up her car again and as I stepped away shocked, she took off down the now dark street.

I went back inside a little sad she felt that way about me. Maybe I should've stayed out of it.
