"Okay," said Phil. "Your ready for this, with this bow'n'arrow you will be unstoppable, so don't lose grip of this, got it kid?"

He handed me the bow'n'arrow. I grabbed it from him, my grip on it tight and my palms sweaty.

"There are only eight manticore out there," Phil instructed. "You can either let them find you or you find them, they are used to cowards so if you hide they will eventually find you, but if you find them you could advance and have the upper hand."

Phil smiled a reassuring smile and Artemis joined in and said

"Make sure you see all 8 infront of you at all times and never turn your back. They won't attack all at once, they will go one at a time, and everytime you will get more tired, so distract them or get up on something high because they can't climb. But I will be with you and so will ten other men, but your the strongest and who they want so they'll be focused on you."

I nodded "Okay, I think I'm ready," said I. "Where are they?"

"1 down 7 to go" I whispered to myself as u pull another arrow out from my backpack, My hands were shaking slightly from fear but I had to remeber to keep a poker face. This manticore was slightly smaller than the others. We approached each other, at least 10 feet away from each other. He stepped forward with one paw and let our a big roar. I reacted immediately and shot him in the back of the throat. Now there were 6.

Four manticore surrounded me like a diamond. They stepped forward individually right after the other and roared. I shot and grabbe my arrow quickly, repeating this 4 times. Now there were 2.

The next one was huge and he frightened me the most and when it looked like he was about to roar he didn't he stepped closer and closer until he was right in my face. Then he roared so loudly. I grabbed a knife from my belt and stabbed him in the back of the throat. His eyes went wide and he fell and dropped dead to the ground. I grabbed my bow and arrow knowing there was only one left, Raamah the leader.

"Very well Selene." I turned around quickly to the deep voice. It was a big dark manticore.

I held tight ready to release. He let out a big powerful roar, so powerful it was blowing me back but I held strong and realized the bow. He immediately stopped, the arrow hitting him in my target. I was free now. I could return home to my father. Relief washed over me.
