East Coast High definitely wasn't my choice, infact... I didn't get a choice. I guess that's okay though, considering I didn't have a choice in it anyway. My mom being the only one in the house besides my brother and me, I decided to give her a break and let her register me in the school she thought was best for her "Little Buggie." My real name is Brodi, but my mom always called me "Buggie" when she discovered my love for insects.
Anyway, back to East Coast High. I'm stereotyped as the "Gay kid." Since everyone there is as straight as a line, I'm the one they choose to pick on. At school, I don't really have anyone. No one, except my brother. Ashton. Ashton is completely okay with my sexuality. He even sticks up for me, and tries to set me up with gay people at parties he goes to, but all of them go to different schools.
Today something weird happened, and I'm not entirely sure how to feel. I made a new friend, and he isn't straight.
I walked into class wearing my favorite long sleeve yellow shirt with the word "Unimpressed" written across the middle of the shirt. My famous ripped jeans rolled at the bottom, fishnet socks, and a pair of Vans hightops. This is pretty much my go-to outfit. As I went to take my seat, I notice the new presence of a new boy sitting directly next to me. I don't want to say anything first, but considering he hasn't looked up from his book in a while, I know he won't.
"Hey, I'm Buggie." I try to get his attention as I sit down. He slowly looked up at me.
"H-hello..." He looked very uncomfortable. My stomach turns at the awkwardness.
"Are you okay, You look scared, or something..." I ask him leaning closer to his direction.
"I-I'm just nervous, and I don't know my way around this place. I don't want to embarrass myself." His shoulders stiffened. He says as he sits upright in his chair, and makes eye contact.
"I could help you, I know this place like the back of my hand." I look at him and flash a smile. He giggles. "I never got your name." I stated.
"Oh, right. I'm Andi." He awkwardly scratches his head and blushes. "Also, that'd be nice. Y'know, if you could show me around."
"Let me see your schedule, I wanna know if we have any classes besides this one." I put out my hand. We have all the same classes, except he has science for 4th, and I have History.
His eyes are hazel. He was wearing a tie-dyed purple and white shirt with the band logo for Fall Out Boy on it. Good band. He had on what seemed to be just a white and black stripped long sleeve shirt on under it. His shoes are old worn-out black converse. His hair is dyed blond.
As we sat through the what seems like never ending period, him and I passed notes to one another. We got to know eachother a little more. He moved here, because his parents divorced. His favorite color is red. So is mine. His favorite animal is a sloth. So is mine. His favorite food is Pasta. Mine is pizza. There's a lot more we have in common, but I figured you didn't want to sit here and read all of them.
Before the last period could end, I asked Andi if there's anyway I could contact him out of school. I got his Snapchat, Instagram, and phone number. We walked with eachother to the front parking lot, and talked at my car. We're both 16, and driving. His car was all the way in the back, so I offered to drive him over there so he didn't have to walk. After I dropped him off, I drove back to the front to get my older brother (Who is grounded from his car), and then straight home.
Ashton is wild. The reason he got grounded from his car is, he was caught with a girl in his room, without mom knowing she was there. I heard them arguing for about the rest of that night.
"So, who was that guy you've been talking to all day?" Ashton asked me as we walked in the kitchen.
"New kid," I said. "His name is Andi." I looked up.
"He's pretty cute, y'know... for a dude." Ashton smiled, I did too.
"I guess so." I shrug. I sat at the table and pulled out my phone to text Andi.
"You guess so? Come on Buggie, You were blushing everytime I saw you with him." Ashton giggled a little, and lightly punched my shoulder.
"Shut up!" I say giggling as well. I continue to text Andi.
Andi:
[Hey so, I have a question.]You:
[Yeah, whats up? lol]Andi:
[I'm not trying to be rude, but r u gay?]You:
[Yeah, I am. My mom and brother know tho.]Andi:
[Ah, cool. I'm Bi.]You:
[Oh, that's gr8! gay buddies lol]I couldn't think of what else to say, but when he said he was pan, my heart... dropped? I barely even know this kid, and all the sudden my brain, and heart are confused. After this conversation Andi said he was going to sleep, so we said our goodnights, but... I just couldn't think right.
Maybe he is... kinda cute...
