‎"James, Al, wait up!" yelled Lily, trying to catch up with her brothers, the boys laughed and ran faster. Lily was so intent on catching her brothers that she didn't see the little garden gnome run in in front of her. Lily went flying into the air, then she crashed to the ground, her head smashing against a rock, everything went black.

Lily woke up with a throbbing head ache in a place she didn't recognize, she looked up and saw a great, domed glass roof above her, glittering in the sunlight, she was in what looked like a huge hall, painted completely white. Lily started to get to her feet.

"Don't get up, stay down darling." said a voice from behind her. She couldn't see who it was but the voice was female, sweet and pleasant.
Lily listened as footsteps got closer and closer to her, but it was 2 pairs of footsteps, not one. Eventually a woman walked into Lily's line of sight, followed closely by a tall man.

"Awe look at her, she is so beautiful." said the man, and suddenly Lily realized who the couple were.

"Are you Grandma Lily? And Grandpa James?" she asked hopeful.

"Yes dear." said her grandmother, kneeling down beside her on the floor.

"Where am I?" Lily asked.

"It's sort of a limbo." said her Grandpa, also kneeling.

"Limbo?" she asked confused, she was only 8 after all.

"It's a place between life and death, where you wait before you go to heaven."

"Am I dead?" she asked, weirdly enough she wasn't frightened of death.

"Not yet darling." her Grandma said, stroking her hair.

"Does that mean your not dead yet either?"

"No baby. We decided not to go to heaven, we are going to wait here, for Harry."

"My daddy?"

"Yes, we love your daddy very much."

"But why would you wait here, he can meet you in heaven, can't he?"

"Yes but the thing is, with so many people out to kill your daddy there was a high chance he would get killed young and if two people decided not to go to heaven, they can wait here with others so that two people can come back to life, then they can go to another place, it's like eternity alone." said Lily, a tear dropping down her cheek.

"That's horrible. Can that really happen?" she asked, not really believing it.

"Yes. Dumbledore saved your daddy, then he went, he insisted he do it. Then Severus and Fred saved your mother and Albus Severus when they almost died. Now I am going to save you." said her Grandpa smiling.

"No you can't, I can die, I'm fine with It." she said getting up.

“No darling, you haven't even lived yet, and your family would be distraught." he replied

"Please don't, I don't want to do that to you!" she cried, running over and hugging him tight.

"I love you Lily, I would do anything for you!" her Grandpa said, giving her a kiss on the cheek.

James got up and kissed his wife on the lips gently.

"I love you Lily, always have and always will." he whispered into his wife's ear.
Little Lily hugged her Grandma, both of them crying, as they watched the bravest man they knew walk away and slowly disappear.

"What happens now?" Lily asked her grandmother.

"In a few seconds you will go home. Tell your daddy and your brothers we love them ok?" Lily told her granddaughter, wiping tears from her eyes.

"I will, love you grandma." she said, as she started to fade away.

"Love you too baby."

Lily opened her eyes.
