Mother Earth's breath wrapped around,

Exhaling the last of Summer's warm touch,

The trees braced themselves for the impact of winter upon their fragile leaves,

They said their goodbyes with a beautiful display of colors,

Colors so beautiful they seemed to emit their own warmth,

The Moon created a sieve upon her surface,

Spilling her blood,

Showing her mourning with her own color,

The color of blood; illuminating the night,

The animals were in awe, 

Some were frightened so much they flew away,

Some drew heavy eyes and fell into a deep slumber

,And thus a great devastation came upon the land, 

Where not even the most fertile crops would yield,

Soon rain turned into snow, blanketing everything 

Putting, at last, the land to sleep,

And the land slept for what seemed an eternity...
