"Aidan, please, you don't have to do this... I need you."
"You'll survive, love." He pulled her closer, her head now resting on his chest as she cried. "I love you, Ly."
"I love you too, Aidan..."

"Today's the day ... the day I go out and socialize with ... people." Lyra sighed and began to dig through her closet.
She pulled out a deep sea blue dress and a pair of black heels to go with it. She walked over to her dresser and opened her jewelry box. She picked a black, sparkly bracelet. She laid the whole outfit on her bed.
Later, she took a shower, got dressed up, did her makeup and hair. She stood in front of the mirror. The dress was fairly tight, definitely the right outfit for clubbing, though, she had only been once. It hugged every curve of her body. She wasn't used to seeing her body this way since she practically lived in her scrubs.
She was almost ready to leave, only needing to find her keys, before a knock sounded at her door. She looked through the peephole, shocked by who was on the other side, she opened the door, preparing her best lecture.
"Mr. Williams!" She crossed her arms, "I didn't sign your release papers, why aren't you at the hospital?"
"Aw, no hug for your favorite patient?" He smiled.
"No." She put her hands on her hips, "Now, explain yourself."
"The hospital let me go. They said they didn't need anymore tests and I looked healthy."
"Okay ..." She paused for a moment before she gasped, "Wait. How did you know where I lived?"
"Your friend, Luke, gave it to me. He gave me your phone number too." He winked and laughed.
She rolled her eyes. "Of course he did."
"Look, I was just stopping by to let you know I got released."
"It's fine ... I guess. I'll take it up with Luke later."
He turned to leave. "I'll be going now. Bye, L-"
"Do you have any plans tonight?" Lyra asked boldly.
He froze for a minute. "No ... why?"
"My friend, Michael, invited me out for drinks, and I was wondering if maybe you wanted to come with me."
"I wouldn't want to intrude. It sounds like a date to me."
"It's not. I promise. You see, ever since I started working here, Michael has been trying to get with me, even when I was with-" Lyra stopped, not wanting to travel back in time, "And it would make everything less awkward if you came."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. You'll have fun, I promise." Freya smiled.
"Okay." He smiled, "I guess I owe you for saving my life and all."
"Umm ... so, do you mind if we take your car? I can't seem to find my keys, and I don't want to be late."
