The One And Only Shifter

Chapter 1

  Justin's Pov....
I walked towards my old beat up truck and started to think. I need to go for a run. My horse, Julius has been quite tense lately because of school I've been up studying and trying to finish my final exams. I haven't given him as much attention as I would have liked. I haven't even trained in a while.
I ran a hand through my milky brown hair and took a deep breath as I climbed in my truck. The engine roared and I shifted into reverse.
I drove down a dirt road knowing I was getting closer Julius was ready. I looked out my window and there he was running along side me. In this world only you can see your animal.
Like for instance, werewolfs can see their wolf, now me as a Shifter I can see my horse too. My parents are both were wolves and I'm adopted. My real parents were humans and my mother was taking growth hormones when she had me so something in the drug made me a shifter. I am honestly fine with being a shifter I like being able to not be myself at times it's a nice break from reality.
Like wolves we have mates, we don't get ours until 20 though. I'm 20 now but I haven't gotten my mate and I know exactly why too. I'm the only one. You may be thinking that's because she must not have turned 20 yet well your wrong. Who ever turns 20 first meets them but has to wait until their 20 to officially become mates.
I'm the only shifter, yes I can be with a werewolf or a human but that wouldn't be right. I don't know anymore. I shook my head, no one would ever love me anyway.

I arrived at the edge of a Forrest and shifted. Julius had a deep dark brown coat with white socks covering all four of his ancles. He had a jet black mane and his tail was black but faded into a brown at the tips.
Julius ran for miles and came to a stop at a neat pond it had a waterfall coming off the cliff above. Julius ran and dove into the water completely soaking himself. He was having fun! He tossed his head and snorted.

When I returned to my truck I shifted back into my human self and started to drive back home and I was in deep thought. What should I do? My mind kept telling me to go to the barn and visit my pals.

Timbers POV...

I brushed my long fiery red hair. I stared at Ginger runing around in by back yard I laughed at her silliness she tossed her head and reared and kicked. She was almost as fired up as I was. Ginger had a slick light Grey coat(white but there is no such thing in the horse world but she's "white" in case you get confused) running throughout her lean body and she had one brown spot on her butt outlining her long bushy tail with streaks of the same brown on her butt. She also has a few spots of brown speckiling all across her face as if The Forrestgodess wanted to put sprinkles on top of her masterpiece.
I new what she wanted but I didn't know whether or not I wanted too. Then I figured why not. I went for a run and let loose.

Justin's Pov...

When I reached my house I opened the fridge and scanned the area looking for something yummy. Hmm I thought to my self. When  I didn't find anything I moved to the pantry. I then found a box of chocolate chip cookies and went up into my bedroom. I didn't think much of my bedroom to be honest. I just have a desk in the corner where I do all of My studying and it's cluttered with books and everything else. Then I have a dresser and a plain old king bed in the middle and a nice 57 inch flat screen with my Xbox 1 and a shelf with my books and video games. I even have a wii u I play Breath of the wild. I went and sat on my bed and turned on the TV and watched some SpongeBob.
"man this show never gets old." I murmured and then I heard the door bell ring.
"Oh crap!" I completely forgot Amanda was coming over! I sped downstairs and opened the door to see Amanda shinedlyn standing at my door step. She was dressed in Jean shorts and a t shirt her blonde hair pulled up into a high pony tail and some light make up.
" hi" I pushed my hands in my pockets and moved out of the way gesturing for her to come in. I walked into the kitchen and sat at the island and we could see the open dining room with a table nicely fit for 12. I quickly went to the door Remering I had to grab my  backpack. I slung it over my right shoulder and walked into the kitchen again. Amanda was already laying out her notebooks and everything's else required for our science project.
"what did you want to start off with?"
I asked she just giggled slightly and gestured me to sit down. As I did she started to explain.
"well I was thinking how about we do an ecosystem in a bottle? It would be a perfect description for what we're trying to project." I looked at her paper in deep thought thinking about her idea.
I felt her soon in my lap and a death grip on my hair and she soon slammed her lips on mine.
