Now I've asked girls out before, but that was when u was young and didn't understand love, but Liz is different, I could definitely see things kicking off from here. Maybe not till marriage or senior year but for a while at least.
I pack up my violin and hang around my seat waiting for the right moment. She comes back from the locker room where everyone (except a few people) puts their instruments. I personally like the public rack, anyways she comes back and sits down. I still cringe thinking about what happens next.
I walk up to her. There are butterflies in my stomach, as I silently utter the words:
"Uh, hey Liz. Are you going to homecoming?""Maybe." She softly replies.
The butterflies in my stomach are going crazy and my heart is beating faster as I barely manage to say:
"I was wondering if you wanted to go together?"Oh fuck... I did it didn't I? But that's just half of the battle. The real prize is the answer. My heart pumps faster and faster as I wait for a response...
"Sure."
...
Wait...
Did...
Did Liz seriously say yes to me?
Oh shit well looks like my work here is done I'll show up to homecoming with a hot redhead and make everyone jealous, but wait... There's like stuff in-between that... Like planning. I didn't think this through I was too nervous and I thought everything would fall into place."Maybe not as a friend but definitely as friends, I'll ask my parents."
"Yeah." I softly say and nod my head. She smiles, I smile back. I want to leave as soon as possible. I'm still very nervous. I take a step back exiting the area, but I stop. I just asked her out. Running away would be weird. I try to look away as this akward silence consumes us. An eternity later she says:
"We should exchange phone numbers so we can meet up."
I give her my number and she puts it into her flip phone. I'm still too nervous to think logically and i don't think to get hers. I just nod if she asks me anything. We smile one more time at each other, her smile is beautiful, and the bell rings. I awkwardly leave and continue on my day. For most of the rest of the day I'm in a great mood, Adriguuad got a date to homecoming. Dab on the haters~
Oh shit.
