2 - Harley

Chapter 2: Harley

When the bus reaches my stop the driver growls at me as I walk off towards home.

I open the door and i see my stepdad Rick standing in the hallway with his belt in his hands I know what this means.

"Your mother isn't home so that means you and I can have some play time Harley"

He whips the belt at me and I dodge it

"Oh a little jumpy today are you Harley well then more fun for me"

He goes again and I grab my skate board and make an exit to the front door

"Not so fast" he says followed by a laugh

I try opening the door but it's locked. I have no escape.

"You think I'm stupid boy come back here now!" I got several whips and a few punches before I blacked out

I woke up in my bed Rick must of put me in bed so mom wouldn't suspect anything. I checked my phone to see the time 6.54 time to get ready for school

I almost forgot about the bus trip yesterday...

I put on an outfit that covers my bruises but sadly I have a big one across my cheek so I will just have to keep my head down the whole day

then I make my bed and head out to the living room to see mom... And Rick

"Hey honey Rick said you were very tired yesterday and that you went to bed at 6 o clock" mum says in a confused tone

Rick stares at me a signal to just go along with it

"Oh umm yeah I had a big day" I lie well the big day part was true

"Okay well anyway, Harl you want some brekky" mom says changing the subject

"Umm I will just grab an apple and head off" I reply

"Why are you going so early the bus comes at 8?" Mom curiously asks

"Well umm I will walk, I like to walk" I answer

I don't really want to catch the bus with that driver there's also a slight chance that Beau Maisy and Brooklyn won't catch the bus either

"Okay well bye Harl hope you have a great day love you" yells mom

"Love you to mom, bye" I yell back

I let out a sigh, relieved I got through that without mom noticing my bruises

I then start my walk to school it'll be a long walk but any things better then catching that bus

When I'm walking I turn a corner and see Maisy walking to school as well

"Hey wait up" Maisy exclaims

I keep walking pretending I didn't hear her

I don't mind Maisy, well matter of fact I actually like Maisy she is sweet cute and really hot you could say I have a crush on her.

My friend Luke told me to throw that paper at her I didn't want to but I had to

Maisy is such a nice sweet brave girl I don't deserve to be her friend so I just keep walking

"Hey Harley" all of a sudden Maisy is next to me

"Oh umm hey Maisy" I say scratching the back of my neck

"Didn't want to catch the bus either huh" she asks

"Yeah umm listen I just wanted to apologise for yesterday if it wasn't for me throwing those pieces of paper at you Brooklyn wouldn't of got angry and I wouldn't have annoyed her and Jake wouldn't of punched me and yeah" I blurt out

"Of course I forgive you Harley" she then faces me and I lift my head up and our eyes meet.

It's so tempting to kiss her but I can't, she doesn't deserve me

"Harley where did those bruises come from you didn't have those yesterday did Jake do that to you" Maisy asks in a concerning tone

Thats the thing with maisy, most people only look at the big things in life Maisy can see the small detailed things that most cant.

"Oh umm I fell off my skateboard yesterday I'm alright happens all the time"

We then chat about random things all the way to school
