Chapter 2

I sat at the kitchen table and started my algebra homework.

"I thought you were going out tonight." Steve said sitting down across from me.

"I was, but I have homework and I didn't want to go with Daniel." I said closing my math book.

"Does he harass you?" He asked crossing his arms.

"No, I just don't really like him I guess." I said shrugging.

"If he ever touches you, you just tell me and I'll get the gang to go down there with me and we'll take care of him." He said. I rolled my eyes.

 "Are you and Soda still going to the game?" I asked.

"Yeah, why?" He asked.

"Just asking, I'm probably going to go to the Nightly Double with Dally, Johny, and Pony." I said.

"Be careful." He said. I stood up and grabbed my jacket.

"Okay, bye!" I said and ran out the front door. Somebody ran up behind me and draped their arm around my shoulder.

"Hey baby, what's poppin'?" Two-Bit asked me. I smiled.

"Hey Two-Bit." I said.

"Where are you heading to?" He asked.

"I'm meeting Dally, Johnny, and Pony at the Nightly Double." I said.

"I think I'll tag along." He said.

"What happened to you getting boozed up tonight?" I asked looking at him.

"Who says I already didn't?" He asked winking at me. I rolled my eyes. You never could tell with this guy.

"Of course you did." I said patting his shoulder and started walking towards the entrance.

"Where do you think you're going?" Two-Bit asked running up and grabbing my wrist.

"I'm going to the Nightly Double, I just told you that." I said slightly confused. He rolled his eyes.

"I know that, but why pay when you can sneak in?" He asked. I sighed as he dragged me to the fence.

"I'll hop the fence and open the door in the fence for you." He said. I crossed my arms and leaned against the fence as he climbed the fence. He held the door open and I walked in.

"If we get caught I blame you." I said pointing my finger as I turned around so I was walking backwards.

"Well we aren't going to get caught so don't worry about it. Where do you think they are anyways?" He asked. I turned back around and shrugged.

"Did they bring a car?" I asked.

"They don't have a car." He said. I rolled my eyes.

"Do you not know Dally?" I asked.

"I don't think they brought a car, if they brought one they would've had to pay." He said.

"Good point, let's go look at the sitting area." I said. I started skippung and Two-Bit lightly jogged to keep up with me.

"I found them." He said pointing to four figures sitting up in front. Who were the people with them?

"Shhh." He said as he started sneaking up behind the guys.

"Okay, greasers, you've had it." Two-Bit said slamming a hand down on Johnny and Pony's shoulder. Johnny and Pony nearly jumped outta their skin. As I got closer I realized that the two people sitting with them were Sherry "Cherry" Valance and her friend Marcia.
