Gumball was woken up by Penny, it was a weekend fortunately, Gumball was so elated from last night.

"Wanna get something to eat?" Penny asked
"Sure."
Gumball grabbed a short flip knife and stuffed it in his jeans pocket. He threw on a black and white striped tee shirt and his shoes and was all ready to go

Nobody was awake, just the two of them.

"So where do we plan on going to eat?" Gumball asked
"Waffle House."
"Dope."
The two snuck out of the house. They walked down a sidewalk, hardly any cars passing by, it was dark and everything had a magenta tint to it. It was quiet and beautiful.
"I can tell you're really excited to be a blue coat." Penny said with a smile.

"Well yeah, I'm sick of the way our governments able to just keep us under its thumb. The more we fight back the more they'll know that-"

"I'm afraid."
Gumball was a little surprised being interrupted.
"Why?" He asked

"I don't want you to get hurt, I don't want to get hurt."

"Penny where's this coming from?" Gumball stopped in front of her and put his hands on her shoulders. "You have never been afraid to fight, what's changed?"

Penny stood there motionless. "You're right I'm just thinking too much..."

The truth was, Penny couldn't help but think of a life beyond rebellion, beyond fighting. She wanted a family a home and those things are always in jeopardy when you're a blue coat. Gumball couldn't understand this, his whole life is idealistic.

"We're gonna make a change Penny, big or small we're gonna make a change."

Penny smiles at Gumball and takes his hands off her shoulders holding them in front of her

"We will, Together."

Gumball lets go and starts walking beside her again. They walk their way to a Waffle House and sit at a table. Gumball orders four eggs, scrambled. Penny orders a waffle and eggs with a side of bacon. Just as they were about to start talking Gumball gets a call. He answers, it's his brother.

"What it do D?"

"Come home, now. Dad just got arrested. Mom is freaking the fuck out and we need you here."

Gumball stood up quick.

"I have to go Penny."

"What? What's going on?"

"Dad got arrested." Gumball said frantically through short breaths

"Let me come with you." Penny said getting out of her seat.

Gumball paid for a meal he wouldn't even get to eat and rushed to his house Penny following close. Gumball ran to his porch step and opened it to his mother crying on the couch.

Darwin and Anias were doing everything they could to calm her down.

"What happened?" Gumball asked Darwin.

"Apparently Mr. Dad got into scuffle with some fucking cuff trying to shake him down for no reason and he got arrested. They might charge it as instigating a disorder which... is punishable by death."

"WHAT?! he just fucking got into a fight?!" Gumball clenched his fists And was visibly shaking Darwin grabbed him by the collar. He got close and stared him in the eyes and quietly said.
