I slammed my alarm clock as hard as I could with my fist.
"It's freaking 6 in the morning!" I yelled, "no one should be getting up at this hour!".
Reluctantly, I removed the bed sheets and swung my legs over the side of the bed. I stretched and stood up, walking to the bathroom. I tied my hair back in a ponytail and washed my face. Well that sure woke me up.
I got dressed in the same thing I always did, loose sweatpants and a t-shirt. It's not like I'm popular so it's not like I put very much effort into looking good.
I ran downstairs and found my mom making chocolate chip pancakes. Oh my god I LOVE chocolate chip pancakes!
"Smells delicious mom!" I said as I gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"Well it should because it has taken me three times to get it right" she said, clearly exasperated.
Okay so my mom isn't the best cook, but it's the thought that counts right?
"Haha well at least you haven't burned the house down yet." I said chuckling while she rolled her eyes at me.
I went into the living room and saw dad sitting on the couch, reading his morning paper as he always did.
"Goooood morning father!" I said with a light and airy tone. So maybe this morning wasn't going to be so terrible after all.
"Goooood morning daughter! Why are you in such a good mood?" he asked, cleared confused why I am so happy at this hour.
"Oh I don't know, maybe because no one has pissed me off this morning? Well that is until Joey wakes up" I said rolling my eyes. Joey is my older brother who is two years older than me. I'm a sophomore and he's a senior. He is probably one of the most frustrating siblings on the face of this planet.
"Well if that's not a good reason to be happy then I don't what is" he said with a slight chuckle.
I headed upstairs and into Joey's room to find him sprawled out on his bed like a freaking bear. He had been drooling... Eww. Suddenly and evil idea popped into my head. I went into the kitchen and grabbed a bucket, filling it with ice cold water. Mwahahaha.
I went up the stairs slowly, as to not spill the water and slowly walked into Joey's room. I got situated and then BAM! splashed the water all over his head.
"WAKE UP BITCH!" I screamed. His eyes flew open and I swear if looks could kill, I would most likely be dead right now. I realized I needed to get my ass out of there so I booked it and flew downstairs.
I heard him coming down the stairs so quickly ducked behind the counter.
"WHERE IS SHE? WHERE?!" He screamed, clearly out of breath from running so fast.
"Oh she's definitely not behind the counter" my mom said with a smirk on her face. Oh my god that hoe just sold me out.
"MOM!" I screamed, and stood up but I could not possibly outrun Joey (curse my slow legs!) so he caught up with me soon enough.
"OH MAKAYLA YOU SOOOO DESERVE THIS!" and he held me and gave me the most severe nougie I've ever been given.
"JOEY LET GO OF ME!" I kicked and flailed until he finally let me go. I stuck my tongue out at him and went upstairs. I locked me door incase he wanted to give me more payback.
It was 7:00 anyway so I decided to put on some shoes, put my hair in a ponytail, like I do everyday, and head downstairs. Avery picks me up at 7:30 to go to school so I had plenty of time to eat breakfast.
I pretty much devoured the pancakes. I said bye to mom and dad, not Joe because Joe is a butthole, and headed out the door. Before I was out the door I caught a glimpse of myself in the hallway mirror.
I'm so.... plain. My skin isn't tan, I have a short stubbed nose that I hate, my eyes are a boring brown color, my lips are thin and my face is long. I'm 5'10 so at least I'm tall, but I don't have one of those petite little cute figures that all the other girls seem to have. I have an athletic build and my shoulders are so broad. And my hair, well it comes down to my back but I always put it up so no one has really ever seen it down. It's a chocolate brown and it's super thick and puffy so I wouldn't want people to see it.
I head out the door and hopped into the car.
"Hey girl! Are you ready for school?" Avery asked. Avery is my best friend ever since third grade when we both got in trouble at some kids birthday party for shoving cake in each other's faces. We have been stuck at the hip ever since.
"Umm I guess. Haha, so what did you do with your weekend?" I asked her.
"Oh you know, did some hardcore drugs and started a gang, you know the usual. What do you think? I studied for the test tomorrow!"
Shit... I completely forgot about the test tomorrow. Uggh I'll have to get all my studying in tonight.
"Based on the look on your face I'm supposing you forgot..." Avery said.
"Yep, I'll just do the studying tonight" I said.
"You better! You know that Mr. Huffmer is the hardest teacher, and that biology is not your best subject" she said with concern in her voice.
"I've got it, I've got it" I said trying to reassure her. The worried look on her face went away and we listened to music for the rest of the way.
