I got out of the car and walked up to Wellmont High's front doors. I took a deep breath, preparing myself for the day about to come.
"Come on Makayla" said Avery, as she took my hand and dragged me into the building.
There's something you need to understand, Avery and I are in the nobody group. We don't stand out in a crowd, we're just sort of.... There. Our two other friends, Max and Connor, are in our group. Connor and Avery obviously like each other but are too shy to admit it.
Avery and I saw Max standing at his locker and went over to him.
"Hey Max! Where's Connor?" Avery asked.
"Do you finally both want to admit that you love each other?" he said smirking.
Avery's cheeks turned bright red. "No I was just curious asshole" she said while slapping Max on the shoulder.
"Ouch, haha he has a dentist appointment so he'll be here at third period".
"Oh well I better get going to first period" I said and turned around walking towards my locker.
I grabbed my chemistry books and shoved them in my bag. I started walking and CRASH! I ran into freaking Carter Stanner. He is the most popular guy in tenth grade and he always had his blonde bimbo Jennifer at his side.
"Watch where you're going loser!" she screamed at me.
"Jennifer hush. Are you okay, umm what is it? Mandy?" he asked with concern in his voice.
"It's Makayla and I'm fine thanks" I said trying to pick up my chemistry books.
"Well watch where you're going next time" she said to me with a cruel tone.
"Jennifer, it wasn't her fault it was mine. Sorry Makayla" he said looking me in the eyes. He probably had the most gorgeous eyes I've ever seen! They were green with specks of blue. I somewhat got lost in them.
I quickly snapped back to reality. "It's fine, I should be getting to class, bye."
"Bye" he said and went with Jennifer to his next class.
What just happened? I've never really has any interest I'm Carter. I mean yeah he's attractive but I always assumed that he was a total ass. But he's not, he's sweet and kind and UGGH what am I saying? I'll never get a guy like Carter Stanner. He didn't even know my name for gods sake! I should forget about what happened.

As soon as I walked out of the chemistry classroom Avery ran up to me.
"What the hell was that?" she practically screamed.
"What are you talking about?"
"The whole mix-up back there with CARTER STANNER?!"
"Oh that? That was nothing, we just ran into each other"
"Well it somewhat looked like more.... If you know what I mean" she said, raising an eyebrow. UGGH I hate when she does that!
"No I don't know what you mean"
"You are SOOOO into him!" she said loud enough for the whole hallway to hear!
"So? What if I am? It's not like I have any chance of getting with him. So I I am, I should probably just give it up" I said, kind of saddened but what I just said.
"Okay this Friday there is a party at Chad's. We are gonna buy you a new dress and you are gonna have fun!"
"I don't know, I haven't been to a party in.... Ever" I said doubtfully.
"Well there is a first time for everything!" and with that she took me and dragged me to second period.

Both my mom and dad were at work and Joey had football practice until 5 so I had the house to myself for two hours.
I heard my phone buzz and went to go check it.
Message from Avery:
OMFG did you hear the news??!
Makayla:
No what's up?
Avery:
Carter and Jennifer broke up!
Makayla:
What?! How did you hear that?
Avery:
He actually dumped in front of everyone! At lunch he said he was tired of her being a bitch and said it was over!
Makayla:
OMG they've been dating since eighth grade!
Avery:
I know! Maybe you have a chance with him not ;)
Makayla:
Still no possible way I will ever end up with him!
Avery:
Sureeee okay. When should we go dress shopping?
Makayla:
Tomorrow I'm free.
Avery:
Okay tomorrow it is!
Makayla:
Hey I need to study, see you tomorrow at school!
Avery:
Okay byezzz.
Makayla:
Bye
And with that I shut my phone and started studying.
