Chapter 7: I Decline.

Annastacia's POV:

I blinked my eyes open. All I saw was blurry images and the faint glow of a lamp .

Where was I?

"Annastacia? Annastacia?! Can you hear me? Are you awake? Does it hurt anywhere? Do you need water?"

I groaned softly as I finally recognised the room I was in, of course I'm in a vampire hospital. "Water." I managed to croak out. 

I caught sight of Drake moving around the room and then a cup was pressed against my lips. I slowly sipped the cool liquid, letting it soothe my dry throat. " What happened to me?" I asked Drake.

" I found you in the forest. You were running away from something, or maybe someone. You didn't see me though, you just kept running. You didn't stop either, until you bumped into me and fainted. You were out for a few hours." Drake replied. There was a slight edge in his voice though. 

The scenes of what happened a couple hours ago flashed in my mind and I let out a shiver. " I want to go home Drake, without you." I was not lying, I really needed time to relax and clear my head. Obviously a vampire hospital is no place to relax. Neither is Drakes home, I still do not feel comfortable there for some unknown reason.

" No! You're staying with me! I just got you back and you expect me to let you go?" Drake growled out.

I shook my head and said, " You can't control me! I want to go home! I can't handle all these drama that is associated with you! I stayed in your house for only a few hours and then what happens? I got freaking kidnapped! I'm grateful that you saved me, but I need to be alone for a while. I want my life back on track and I can't do that with you around!"

Drake let out a heart breaking sign, " At least let me mark you, I need to know whether you are safe or not." 

" No. I'm not ready Drake. You can assign some guards or whatever to keep me safe. I'm not ready to be marked and I'm not ready to face you as my mate." I said out firmly, my heart was aching and I wanted to just pounce into his arms and tell him I never want to let him go, but this had to be done.

I am not some girl who would just jump into her royal mate's arms and depend on him for everything. I needed my life back on track and I need to make my own decisions, not let him tell me what to do.

" I'm not happy with this arrangement." Drake growled out , his eyes flashing an angry red, you could tell his was trying to keep his anger and frustration at bay .

"Then so be it. Its either you assign guards to protect me or I will just go home alone without anyone's protection." I said while jumping out of the uncomfortable hospital bed and walking towards the door.

A hand caught hold of my arm, the tingles shot through my arm like wildfire. I was whirled around and Drake's face was inches away from mine. 

" You do not decline what I tell you to do, I'm your mate. I almost lost you and I'm not letting you go just like that. You can come stay with me at the palace. You're not to decline my offer." Drake said, his jaw clenching as he spoke.

" Well guess what? I decline. I decline your damn offer. You have not rights to tell me what to do" I all but growled out at him.

With that, I ran out of the hospital room with my unusually fast vampire speed and sped towards the direction of home. I made sure to slam the door at his face too before running.
