Since I was a kid, my mom and dad had always told me that no matter how much trouble you get yourself into in life, you'll move past it and eventually forget it.
"Anything can be fixed." They'd say after a bad day at school. But how can you rid your mind of the pain? How can you make the scars disappear from your body? How can you just move on and forget that something of true horror happened to you?
If there's one thing I learned from the aftermath of my five days in hell, it's that no matter how hard you try to fix something that's broken, the pieces just never fit together the same again. I wish more than anything that the pieces could be put back in the same way, that I could forget about the pain and terror I felt. But that's just not how it works, because when you've been smashed to the point that you've become dust.
The pieces scatter and you lose yourself.
