The blizzard raged onto the darkened city below, the snow fell rapidly and covered the ground below in a white layer of snow.
The freezing wind felt like a blade slicing your skin, the only place that was safe from the harsh conditions was the alleyways.
Taking advantage of the night and the harsh conditions, two men sat dormant behind a dumpster. They both waited from someone to walk down the darkened alley.
Both of these men wore the same clothing. A black, heavy hane jacket with two small pockets on each side. Their jeans matched their jackets. On their feet they had steel toed military boots, the only difference in them was what they wore on their face.
They both had a mask on to hide their identities. One of the masks was a demon mask, this went to the man with more experience. This mask had narrowed eyes that you looked through, An opened mouth with sharp teeth but it did not have any horns.
The other mask that the man that was new to the job had was a simple, black ski mask with no mouth, it just had two eye holes.
The demon mask sat gingerly on the face of the leader of the two. This man had a body of an ox and his friend on the other hand was like a twig, he had no muscles on him.
A young man in a white suit walked down the alley mumbling. In his right hand, he held a dark brown suitcase with an iron fist. His hair was short and blond, he had it combed back and his dead green eyes kept looking forward.
As he began to walk past the dumpster a foot stuck out and tripped the man. The man was down face first into the snow and before the initial shock of what just happened became apparent two men walked up behind him.
Before he could even turn around a foot came crashing down onto his back, the force behind the foot was more then the man could handle and he was stuck on the ground.
But, before anyone had the chance to do anything else a voice shot straight down the alley way at them all. The voice was from a young, 8 year old boy.
"Gavin... Please get up!" The boys voice was full of fright, he was on the verge of tears as he screamed it out as loud as he could.
The boy had a red, poofball hat on his head and it seemed too big for him as it was down to his eyes. His brown snowcoat also went down to his knees. None of his clothing seemed to be the right size for the boy.
As the young boy stood a few feet away from the men, they turned around to face him but Gavin yelled out to the boy.
"Run Michael! Run as fast as you can!" Even with his face buried in the snow he screamed these words.
In response Michael ran away into the blizzard but Gavin couldn't move. The weight on his back was now back breaking, the man on top of him kept trying to put more and more into his legs. The man on him growled as he was looking out into the blizzard.
"Do not let that brat get away... Go kill him Joshua and make it quick while I kill this man." Joshua nodded his head and ran off into the blizzard and the man in the demon masked looked down at Gavin and chuckled.
Joshua searched through the blizzard, quickly he became lost as his vision was limited outside. The wind blew violently, the force felt as if it was going to cut him open.
(Maybe I should just give up... I can just say that I killed the boy.* Joshua started to look around for the way back but off in the distant, two silhouettes were walking towards him.
The two silhouettes came closer and it looked like a teenager and a young boy. Before the came up to Joshua he took off his ski mask and tried to look friendly.
The pair of shadows became visible, it was the kid from before. The boy hid behind the teenagers legs. The teengaer had a well built body, he wore a black leather jacket that looked well worn. His hair was long, brown and messy and from the raging winds it covered his left eyes. His sky blue eyes showed no fear as he stood firm and straight. His skin was as white as the snow and the freezing temperatures.
Joshua had his blond hair in a military buzzcut, his lime green eyes were focused on Michael as he was hiding behind the teenagers legs. Joshua had tanned skin that was made lighter by the below 0 temperatures.
"You found my son! Thank you so much sir!" Joshua tried to pull off a fake smile as he stood in front of them.
The teenager laughed at him "You're not his father... You killed his brother didn't you?
Joshua nodded his head and grinned, his grin pierced through your soul. The small boy squeezed the teenagers legs harder in fear.
The boy shot his finger out and pointed it at Joshua. "What is your name, I want to know the name of the man who will be beaten down by a kid." His voice was full of confidence
"You're a cocky one aren't you? Well I guess it can not be helped... I'm Joshua" His voice was deep but shaky.
"I'm Thomas and I'm about to beat the crap out of you" His finger still pointed at him, Thomas was smiling with confidence after every word.
Joshua pulled a knife from his pocket, the knife was a silver butterfly knife. The blade was as sharp as the wind.
Thomas did not move from his position. As the wind picked up it blew the hair out of his face, now both of his sky blues eyes were looking at his opponent. The gaze from Thomas built fear up inside Joshua shaking him to the bone.
Joshua closed his eyes and charged Thomas blindly with both of his hands holding the knife.
Joshua was running straight forward with his eyes stuck on Thomas. Thomas jumped to the left to avoid Joshua but he anticipated this and swung to his left cutting Thomas.
The swing was so powerful it cut through Thomas's leather jacket and it sliced a giant gash across the middle of his chest. The cut went across his whole chest and was a few inches deep and began to stain his shirt with blood.
Joshua tried to swing back down at Thomas in but Thomas jumped backwards. Instead of landing on his feet like last time he lost his footing and ended up slamming his face into the snow. Thomas was disoriented as he tried to move his face out of the snow. Taking advantage of this Joshua ran up on Thomas and slammed his steel toed boots into his chest.
The pain shot through Thomas's whole body, His wound was made even worse by the kick. Joshua kept kicking him until he rolled over onto his back. After kicking him Joshua put his knees around Thomas locking him down. Thomas wasn't ready for this and with both of his hands still wrapped around the knife he tried to stabbed it into the middle of Thomas's chest.
In the last second, Thomas put both of his hands out to stop him. Both of his hands out to stop him. Both of the men pushed back and forth trying to move the knife. Joshua was pushing straight down with all his force while Thomas was trying to push him off with all his might.
A few seconds passed, Joshua was closing the gap between the knife and Thomas and now the knife sat only a few inches above his chest.
"Not so... Cocky now are you kid?" His voice was shaky as he was out of breath
With blood running down his face he yelled at him "Go... go to hell"
The knife slowly came down a bit more, the pain in Thomas's chest was not helping him. The knife gingerly touched the wound from before. Thomas let go of the knife and the knife plunged into Thomas's chest.
Joshua let go of the knife and climbed off Thomas. He looked down at the teenager. Joshua grinned and turned to look for Michael.
Michael was sitting in the snow, he never said a word that entire time as the fight went on. Slowly Joshua walked over to him, with every step the snow crunched under his feet. The crunching of the snow echoed through the wind.
In that split second another sound broke through, the sound of an object crashing through a window rang into the night and before Joshua could turn around a hand slammed down on his shoulder followed by heavy breathing.
