Story One: She’s a Girl, I’m a Girl

How can I be feeling like this? I didn’t think it was possible, ChibiUsa pondered.

Lying in bed, ChibiUsa wondered how and why she could be having strange new sensations when she sees Hotaru.

Hotaru’s short black hair, her purple eyes with the violet gleam, the curve of her body… ChibiUsa found herself attracted. Being only eleven years old, ChibiUsa was oblivious to the fact that the sensation she was experiencing was pure love and attraction.

She fell asleep to thoughts of Hotaru and dreamt of playing all day at the park, the two girls swinging as the crisp air smelled sweetly of cherry blossoms.

“Hotaru!” ChibiUsa called as she ran up to her friend, trying to catch up and panted, “Good morning.”

“Oh, ChibiUsa-Chan,” Hotaru was taken by surprise, “what are you doing up so early on a Sunday morning?”

“I just wanted to check up on you,” ChibiUsa smiled sweetly. As she did so, Hotaru took in her Pink Sugar coloured lips and couldn’t help but smile back.

“Would you like to come with me to the park?” the thirteen year old invited.

“Oh yes please!” ChibiUsa’s smile widened, her heart skipping a beat as she remembered the dream last night.

Hotaru took the younger girl’s hand in her own and started leading ChibiUsa to the park. She took note of the slight flush that ChibiUsa always seemed to have whenever they were together.

Hotaru wondered if ChibiUsa also felt the same way as she did. Today, she would put this to the test.

When they reached the park, Hotaru led ChibiUsa to a bench, and they sat down near some cherry blossom trees. The air was so nice and refreshing; it was so nice to get out of a dingy old house. Both girls sighed and stayed silent for a bit.

“Hotaru?” ChibiUsa asked quietly, “I’ve never felt so… different when I’m with you.”

“Different?” Hotaru questioned, slightly confused.

“I mean, when I’m with my other friends, I don’t feel this way…” she trailed off, truly wondering what she was trying to say. A slight wind blew and it made her hair go in her eyes. Hotaru laughed and pulled the strands away from ChibiUsa’s line of vision.

Hotaru inched a little closer and said, “Maybe that’s because we’re so close. I think we can find something special in one another.”

“Something special?” Now was ChibiUsa’s turn to get confused, but her heart-rate quickened.

“I think you know what I mean… Those feelings you get, they’re special and I get them, too,” Hotaru’s voice turned soft.

“Y-you do?” ChibiUsa stammered and turned red.

“And when two people feel the same way, they fall in love,” Hotaru explained, her voice so sweet it was enchanting.

“But Hotaru, we’re both girls!” ChibiUsa blurted out, clearly not grasping the concept well. Hotaru’s heart hurt for a second and her face fell. ChibiUsa instantly felt guilty.

“Haruka and Michiru are just like us,” Hotaru said while looking away, “I mean… I was so sure about you. I could tell by your face that you felt the same. You’re still young, though. We both are, but I truly believed you felt this way.”

“I-I do, Hotaru-Chan,” ChibiUsa piped up after a moments silence, “I really do. I just didn’t know that I actually loved you loved you.”

“Love me-love me?” Hotaru questioned feeling puzzled.

“Yeah, more than a friend. More than I could love anybody else! It’s all making sense to me now.”

“Well… That was quick!” Hotaru laughed and pulled ChibiUsa close.

 ChibiUsa was mature for her age, more-so than her mother. But she still has the heart of a child, and Hotaru wants to keep it that way. But she couldn’t resist one quick peck on the lips. When hotaru pulled back, she noticed a shocked look on ChibiUsa’s face.

“More,” ChibiUsa finally said, looking lost in her own little fantasy world.

“Only if you catch me first!” Hotaru exclaimed and tagged ChibiUsa before running off.

“Hey!” ChibiUsa cried, “That’s not fair!”

And the two girls ran and played all day, non-stop, until sunset.
