The beggining

My name is Kelsie. My life is simple. I graduated college became a journalist to do the thing I love. I enjoy writing. In my free time I make books which I hope I can publish one day. I enjoy making stories.

My parents died when I turned 18. Now I am 20 but I still miss them. It's been hard without them. They always called me when I was upset as if knowing I needed to just talk to someone.

Many boys have crushed on me but none ever spark my interest. Girls in school had always glared at me jealously. I never understood why. I don't think I am that cute.

I feel normal.

Every day is the same routine with me and I like it.

I get up, eat, go to work, come home, write my book, and go to bed. That's it.

Anyway I have to wait for the bus. It is unusually late today. It is always here by 7  and it's 7:30.

I decide to take out my book while I wait and start writing. After a few minutes a car pulls up to the bus station but I ignore it thinking that they are just dropping someone off. My tongue sticks out in concentration.

I continue writing my story when I hear footsteps approach.

I look up with a smile to greet the person but am met with a chemical infused cloth. It burns my nose causing me to feel dizzy.

I push against the arm but holds tightly against my mouth and nose forcing me to inhale the chemicals. I kick and scream but is does me no good. The person holds me there pinning me and no amount of force even budges the arm.

My vision starts to blacken and I drift into nothingness.

I groan turning in bed. Bed? I gasp opening my eyes. I look around the room my heart racing. My eyes are met with cold, cruel eyes and an evil smile.

"Who a-are y-you?" I ask stuttering despite my attempt not to. His smile spreads but doesn't warm it only gets scarier.

He gets up and walks up to me. I back as far as I can from him but he only gets on the bed so his face is inches from mine.

"Hello dear. Nice to see you alive and well. Though a boring life you lead alive you are." his voice holds no sympathy in it.

He trails a finger down my cheek and I shiver in disgust. I scowl.

"Who are you? Why did you bring me here?" I ask angrily.

He clicks his tongue. "I am your prince of course. Did your parents not tell you of my existence. I thought they would tell you something about me. You probably don't even know what you are. Do you?"

I stare at him incredulously. "Of course I do I am a journalist."

"Species darling. You are not human though your parents have led you to believe it." he says.

Anger seeps through as well as fear. This man is insane. Of course I am human. Someone needs to put this man in an asylum.

"Your insane." I say.

A smile spread across his face. He gets of the bed and stares at me. I watch in shock and fascination as he sprouts wings. They look incredible.

Like this but a deep blue.

I shake my head. This is a trick. I glare at him.

"That proves nothing." I disregard his attempt.

He frowns then glares angrily.

"It does not matter you will believe me in due time. In the mean while you are mine. I will have fun with you until your wings reveal themselves then we will marry and you will be the next queen as your parents wanted." he says.

I laugh bitterly. "My parents would never want me to marry a lunatic like you."

He smiles. "We shall see dear, we shall see."
