Meeting

The boys meet in Mike's studio. For many years that has been the ideal setting to meet, discuss ideas, laugh at others, feedback tours, project organization and the atmosphere was always very cheerful. However, today it had a cold and sad energy; even Rob, the youngest of the boys, looked old and tired.

I prepared some coffee for a distracted Talinda and the other girls who came too; we never lacked motives to be together but today seemed to be the first time I saw them.

- Did you disconnect her phone? I asked Lindsay as I carried the tray with several cups of coffee to the table where the others were

- Yes Dear. It's a great idea that you asked for privacy for everyone - She answered with a melancholy smile

- All this is very confusing - Heidi said giving a first sip to the coffee - It seems like we're living a nightmare

- Brad hasn't wanted to say a word since he told me. It's like if his voice had gone - Elisa murmured

- Anna, where are the children? - Suddenly Talinda came out of her taciturn state

- In Otis' bedroom. They're all there - I answered by finishing my coffee

I couldn't even turn on the television. What for? To see my house being filmed from a live helicopter? That was pretty stupid already. Again there was silence, we were all around a haggard and tired Talinda. Suddenly the silence began to bring me memories of the last moments with Chester; Mike said that after the death of Chris, his great friend, he had become melancholy and more withdrawn. I had an uncomfortable question for such a terrible moment:

- Do you really think he committed suicide?

Immediately I regretted the question, because Talinda gave me a cold look and now I had six more pairs of eyes on me

- What do you mean? - Elisa asked

- Well, please don't judge me - I took a break - Forensics say the scene was the same as they found Chris and I know they were pretty close. But do you really think he wanted to recreate his death up to that point?

- It's a very delicate question, Anna - Heidi said, softening everyone's eyes - I know you're quite skeptical and I don't blame you, but what you're saying is, I repeat, very delicate. You suggest it wasn't suicide?

- I don't know - I shrugged - I cannot avoid questioning everything and I know how much trouble I cause for that

- You have to wait for the autopsy report. Until you listen to them, you should not question those things - Lindsay pointed out

I thought it prudent to keep quiet and go for another cup of coffee; it was official that none of the girls supported my first impression of Chaz's death. However, I couldn't get the idea out of my head and when something round my thoughts, I can't help but get to the bottom.
