Quinn

I opened one of my eyes and saw darkness. I grabbed my flashlight from underneath my pillow and quietly sneaked downstairs to the Christmas tree. It was about a few days till Christmas but I was too excited. I really couldn't wait any longer because if I did, I would explode.

I entered the living room and heard the kitchen light turn on. I slowly turned around and saw Gary open the fridge. I rolled over to the couch and stayed put for a while. I was always the silent ninja in the family. I heard his footsteps fade away and caught a breathe of relief. "Quinn?" I saw the living room light turn on. Busted.

"Oh hi bro!" I said, playing it cool. He rolled his eyes at me. "Please don't tell mom and dad! Pretty please!" I made a pouty face so I could persuade him. "Fine! But only if you promise to keep your bazooka away from me for a month. Okay?" He said. I knew that would be hard but I shook on it. "Bye!" I said as he walked up the stairs to our bedroom.

I then sneaked downstairs into the basement and walked into the back section. Our mom always hid our presents in the back of the basement because she knew that I never liked seeing the spiders. But if it was for a toy, (a popular one) then there was no stopping me!

I finally arrived and ripped open the wrapping paper. I put it all in a nearby trashcan and opened the box. In my hands was a small little purple Furby like toy. "Me Tattletail. Me loooove you." It spoke. I frowned as I realized our mom didn't get me the newest toy on the market. The fidget spinner! I put it back in the present and wrapped it up with the leftover wrap paper. I turned to walk away when I heard it say something. "Happy birthday!" I immediately ran over and pulled the toy out. I looked around for the off button but there was none. My blood ran cold.

I dashed upstairs while tucking the thing underneath my arm. I burst through the door and it woke Gary up in the process. "Q-Q-Quinn?" He said, groggily. "Gary, I need your help! This thing won't turn off!" I explained quickly. He walked over to me and took it. He turned it over for a few minutes. I was afraid that it wouldn't turn off and our mom would find out.

Then, I wouldn't have any of my presents! Finally Gary spoke. "I can't find it." He said. "I'll be right back!" I quickly dashed down the stairs and fetched a hammer. I raced up to our bedroom and grabbed the toy; throwing it onto the ground. I raised the hammer above my head but Gary stopped me. "Quinn! That's not the way to go!" He said. He took the hammer from me but I tried to protest. It however was in vain.

"Our mom paid good money for this thing! And you just decide to destroy it?!" He yelled. "But-But, I wanted a fidget spinner! All the kids have it nowadays." I whined. He groaned and rolled his eyes at me. "Just put take it downstairs and we can settle it in the morning." He said. I groaned and picked up the toy.

"All I just wanted was a simple fidget spinner mom!" I grumbled under my breath. "Give me a treat!" The toy said. I raised an eyebrow at it then walked over to the fridge. I opened it and felt the cold breeze. I scanned the rows of food and saw the old moldy cheese in the back. I pulled it out and shoved it into the toy's mouth. It then let out a huge smelly burp. I tried to hold back my vomit because it reeked of it's smell.

I went down into the basement and set the toy down on the table. I wrapped it all up in wrapping paper until I heard it speak in another voice. "Mama mad." The voice sounded as if was an angry mother and a demonic voice combined. I backed slowly away then took off running toward the stairs; not looking back. I burst into the bedroom and woke Gary up by shaking him awake.

"It's alive! It's alive! It's gonna get a knife, sneak into our bathroom, and use popcorn against us!" I screamed. That was when the hallway light turned on. I immediately ran under the bed and waited for it to go off. "Quinn? Gary?" Our mother called for us. Gary rolled over onto his side and fell asleep. The hallway light turned off and I heard footsteps fade into the distance. I took a sigh of relief and snuck into my bed.

The last thing I remember before closing my eyes, is seeing the same little toy from before in front of my face.
