Chapter 18

Beep beep beep ...

My eyes ached as they fluttered open. Just like I thought, I was in the hospital. My head was in pain as I tried to hold my eyes open. I was alone . Nobody cared to come see me? How long have I've been out ? What happened to - SHAE!

Feeling a rush of adrenaline my weak body shot up from the hospital bed. A nurse barged into the room before I could get out of the bed .

" oh wow your woke ?" She looked at st me in disbelief.

" bitch what ? Yes I'm woke . Now move I have to find her . " I said while trying to get up from the bed .

" journey please relax , just lay down" she insisted . She pushed my body gently back on to the bed .

" no get your hands off me , where is she!" I fought back.

" journey please calm down before we have to sedate you !"She yelled back while attempting to push me in the bed.

My head instantly started hurting worse as I was about to argue with the nurse some more .

My limp body fell back into the bed and the nurse helped by placing my legs up onto the bed.

" now journey you do know you've been in a coma for two weeks ?" She asked .

" what? No ! Where is everybody!" I yelled.

" now now just relax you took a hard blow to the head sending your body into shock. You lucky you woke up , since nobody was here to sign for you , we was about to pull the plug in another week" she said softly.

I didn't say anything . I just stared at the ceiling .

" now your doctor will be in here momentarily, " she said before leaving and closing the door behind her .

I laid in the bed and cried . I cried until I couldn't cry any longer . Where was kaitlyn ? Where was syd ? Where was my parents ? And most important where was Shae ? This situation scared me so much and made memories from my childhood flood back . Once again , I was being abandoned.

" she's in jail" a faint voice spoke .
I looked around the room. Not seeing anyone , I was convinced I was going crazy.

" your looking for jah right ? She's in jail." The voice spoke again . I looked over to the right of me noticing another hospital bed not to far away . How did I not notice that ? I was so busy looking for Shae and she was right next to me !

" Shae?"

" the one and only" she said while attempting to laugh but instead broke out into a fit of coughing as she clinched her stomach.

" I thought you was -

" dead" she managed to say.

Her coughing soon seized .

" I might as well be , when we leave here I won't absolutely nothing to do with you . You don't appreciate me. I took a bullet for you and the first person you ask for when you wake up is the person who tried to kill you! I'm so stupid for falling for you man"she spoke in a cracky voice indicating she was crying .

I didn't say nothing . I just cried with her. I deserved everything that she had just said to me . I was the reason she was in the hospital. All this was my fault.

The door cracked open . I rolled my teary eyes thinking it was the doctor . I wasn't prepared for what happened next . I held my face as I rubbed the spot on my cheek Syd had just slap me at.

" you bitch! You selfish bitch! Just to think I was considering you one of my best friends and I still do but boy you are one selfish hoe!" Syd yelled.
