Running down the busy streets; a young man with raven hair and feminine features, carried two handfuls of his designs for his first project. With a bag huge enough to cover half of his slim body, Jaejoong continuously practiced mumbling the speech he was going to give for his presentation. This was his big break and he wasn't going to give up despite his trembling nerves. 'I can do it!' Jaejoong told himself. Reaching a crosswalk, he saw Changmin waiting for him on the other side. Ignoring the blinking red hand telling him to stop, Jaejoong crossed the street anyway.
A horn echoed, followed by the streaking sounds of a silver luxury car braking too quickly. The odor of melting rubber tires scraping against the hot ashalt ground blew through the entire block. Hit and thrown 10 feet away, Jaejoong crashed to the ground at high impact. His things slipped from his grip and scattered all over the street. The driver of the vehicle immediately got out and approached him. Seeing the nearly lifeless body lying there in a pool of blood, the tall male in a white suit was all shaken up. In a panic, he knelt down in front of him and removed his coat to slip under Jaejoong's head as a pillow.
"Are...are you okay?" Gently patting his face in hopes of reviving the unconscious man, he discovered that the victim wasn't breathing. Looking up at the crowd that has gathered around them, he shouted out for help. "Someone...please call the ambulance! Hurry..." Starting CPR on Jaejoong at once; he tried his best to bring him back.
Paralyzed by shock, Changmin, Jaejoong's best friend and coworker, finally snapped out of his trance and ran to his side. "Jae!" Pushing his way to the front of all the bystanders, he also knelt down facing the young man. With tears trailing down his face, Changmin didn't know what to do. "Please...wake up! Jae. Do you hear me? Wake up! You still have a presentation to give..."
At last, there was a faint breath from him but he was still unconscious. The paramedics arrived shortly and transported him to the hospital in critical condition. Changmin went with him in the ambulance, holding his hand tightly to encourage him not to give up. The driver had to stay behind for some police questioning and the towing of his vehicle. People, who have witnessed the incident, clearly reported to the officers that it wasn't the driver's fault. The victim had disregarded the lights and ran across the street into oncoming traffic.
At the hospital, Changmin waited anxiously outside the operating room for Jaejoong. The doors finally swung opened after hours of surgery. The patient was pushed out to the Intensive Care and placed on life support. Approaching the doctors, Changmin looked at them with concern in his eyes. "Doctor, how is he?"
