Ashton and Luke were dating. They loved each other. They made a promise, that if one of them wanted to die, the other would also. It seemed stupid to everyone they told, and maybe it was. But no one knew what they went through, and even if they did they still wouldn't understand.

They went through it together. And they both basically didn't give a shit about anything anymore. They vandalised the school a countless number of times, and they never got caught. The kids in the school called them The Reckless And The Brave.

    And they were.

----:----:----:----

It was raining. And, yes, there was water leaking through the cracks under the windows and doors in Luke's house, but no one was there to notice. His brothers had moved out 3 months priour, and his mum was on a business trip.

Luke was sprinting towards the bridge in the centre of town while frantically speaking to Ashton over bad cell phone service. He came to a halt when he saw his boyfriend gripping the bars on the edge, staring into the water below.

He ran across the bridge looking around for cars, even though there's obviously not going to be someone driving in the middle of a hurricane at 3 in the morning on a Thursday.

"Ashton," Luke whispered. His curly haired boyfriend spun around and smiled at Luke.

"Hey."

"I come to die for you and all you have to say to me is 'hey'?"

"Well when you put it like that..."

Luke laughed and climbed over the metal bar separating the two.

"But thanks."

"Ash, we made a promise to each other. Promises aren't meant to be broken."

Ashton sighed. "So I guess this is it then?"

"I love you."

"I love you too."

They laced their fingers together. "Long live The Reckless And The Brave." Ashton whispered.

"Yup. Long live us."

    And then they jumped.
