After Party

"Took ya long enough" said Berk. "Sorry, I didn't know I was supposed to be on time with coffee" Jake said. "Anyways, we did good, 500,000 big ones. Bud and Sharlene did good with timing on getting the money and Jake made a somewhat quick getaway. Questions?" "Yea, when do we get paid?" asked Bud. "It's not like I have all the time in the world to sit in a rotting old ass tower" said Sharlene. "Just calm down, the money is in the trunk of your cars. You'll get paid soon enough" said Berk. " That's it, now, don't go and spend all that green" Everyone walked to the elevator and got off at their floors. I got off with Berk. "Remember, one more job, and you're all paid up" "Yea, I know" Jake Said

Jake walked into his apartment door and gave a quick "Hey" to his brother, Nick. "Why, Hello there driver " "Huh, driver?" "Do you think I'm blind?" asked Nick. "Probably not, but I can never be sure with your job" said Jake. "Hey drug dealing is a valid way to make money" "Sure, you keep thinking that" Jake said. 

The next morning he hadn't gotten a call from Berk, so he decided to go to Bo's. He got dresses grabbed his keys and when he got to his car, Nick was standing there. "What" asked Jake. "What do you think" said Nick as he pulled out a stack of 100$ bills. "I see you got payed" said Jake. "Not me, you, where do you get this" asked Nick. "My job, now, I thought we had promised we would stay out of each other's work" said Jake. "So, you don't want to explain this to me" asked Nick. "Not now, sorry Nick" said Jake. Nick walked back to his car and Jake got in his. He pulled out of the parking garage and drove to Bo's. On his way, he had to go on the freeway there. "Jesus, New York traffic is terrible" he said to himself as he turned the radio through all the stations looking for something good. He couldn't find anything so he decided to plug in his iPod. He flicked through the songs and clicked on "Slide Thru - Blackbear". As he pulled up to Bo's dinner, he unplugged his iPod and plugged in some headphones. He walked in and sat down in the same booth he always did. A girl walked in and he looked at her, he took out his headphones. She walked by without noticing him. She walked into the back and he still was staring at the door when she came walking out another door and up to his table. "Hi, what do you want today?" she startled him. "Uhh" he flipped to the menu. "That's the kids menu" she said while quietly giggling. "Oh, yea, I guess it is" he said. "It's ok, that happens to a lot of people" she said. She looked down at the table next to his menu and saw a recorder. "Oh, am I being recorded for customer satisfaction?" she asked jokingly. "Uhh, I think you're safe for now" he responded. She picked up the recorder, hit record and started speaking "Hello, what would you like this fine morning?" she said into it and put it next to his face as if it were a microphone and she was trying to get a statement. "I think I'll have a coffee" he said. She then clicked the stop button and set it back down. "Alright then, a coffee it is" she said, then walked back to the kitchen to give the order to Bo. "Hey" he kinda medium yelled. She looked back at him and walked towards him. "Yea?" she asked. "What's your name anyways" he asked as his eyes moved towards his nametag, "Darren?". "Oh, this isn't my name tag, my name's Kelly". "Why, nice to know your name" he said. "Ok, what's your name?" she asked. "My names Jake" he responded. "Good to know, anyways, I should probably get back to work" she said. She turned away with her beautiful brown hair flying through the air. She looked back at him one last time with those almost perfect deep blue eyes.
