"Where did this Clinton guy say they were going to be?" I asked, looking around the fairground

"Where did this Clinton guy say they were going to be?" I asked, looking around the fairground.

"For the hundredth time, Mels, it's Ashton," Lilly said, sounding annoyed. See? We haven't even met this blind date guy and Dustin was already causing problems between me and my best friend. "He said they'll probably be near a food stand. He also said there'll be a high chance that it was the hot dog stand," Lilly replied, surveying the crowd.

I roll my eyes. Boys.

"Oh, look," she said, pointing excitedly at a pair of boys not far away. And, yes, they were near the hot dog stand. "That must be them."

I look at them skeptically. They were pretty cute. Especially the blonde one.

"Ok, how do I look?" Lilly asked, running a hand through her hair.

I took a step back and looked her over from top to bottom.

"Hideous," I pronounce.

She beamed. "So, practically gorgeous in your vocabulary."

I grinned back. It was creepy how well she knew me. And she was right too. Lilly has an effortless beauty, with her black hair, blue eyes and hourglass figure. Heads turned whenever she entered a room and it took a lot of effort to take your eyes off her.

"Whatever," I said, failing to hide my smile. "Let's get this over with."

Halfway there, the boys turned and spotted us. The brown haired one's eyes widened at the sight of Lilly and he leaned into whisper something in the blonde's ear and he smiled back. I blinked, dazed.

So he was cute. Big deal.

Man, those eyes.

"Hi," the brown haired one greeted Lilly, shyly. It was adorable. Not. "I'm J-Ashton."

"Make up your mind. Jashton or Clinton?" I say rudely.

He looked at me strangely. "Ashton," he says. "Ashton Rivers."

I narrowed my eyes. I've heard that name. I just couldn't remember where.

Lilly smiled back and, just like that, they were in their own little world.

I turned to the blonde, cuter one. "So you must be the other one."

He turned to me, a smirk on his face, and did a double take. He blinked a few times and then smiled.

"Y-yeah. I suppose I'm the other one."

I cross my arms. "Do you happen to have a name?"

Blondie grinned. My heart involuntarily fluttered.

"Why, yes. Yes, I do happen to have a name. Surprisingly."

There was a few seconds of silence as I waited for him to go on.
