The trial didn’t take long. My attorney did everything he could, but there was too much evidence stacked against me. There were no eyewitnesses as they couldn’t make my underage son testify, even though I was told it was he who called the police and there were no character witnesses as I was rarely permitted to leave the house by my father. The jury took into account that my father was abusive, but it wasn’t self-defence as he wasn’t attacking me at the time. I was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
