Nine years later both Tommy and Rose went back to school; and
their marriage survived with two boys. Tommy is now a dynamic
distinguish gentleman in the community, and plans to run for
office in a congress seat, and is unaware of Rose's talent for
singing is about to play a sufficient role in their relationship,
because she plans to pursue her singing career.
"Rose, you picked a find time to tell me, when you know my plans to run for office."
"I'm sorry but, my dad always told me not to be afraid of making my dreams come true, so now I want my dreams to come true."
"It's okay to dream, but your dreams is going to mess up our lives."
"Tommy, really I'm not trying to but I'm changing and I need more, because sometimes I feel like I'm just fading away."
"Yeah, fading away from your family, and that's what pursuing this music is going to do to us."
"Pursuing my career is not going to hurt this family, the kids will be popular and you will be elected, just be cause of me."
"Okay, where is Rose? And who is the big head chic? Because your head has swollen so large you can't see straight. Now I'll tell you what's going to happen; I'm going to loose this election because, I can't control my family."
Rose stormed out of the room in tears. Rose felt like Tommy
only cared about himself, he did not love her anymore, if he could
not allow her to pursue her career, still Tommy wants her to
believe in him and to help him in his election. Rose felt the
relationship was one sided.
Silence roamed through the Sheetz's home from ten forty five
until four in the med evening, when the kids were getting home
from an all day Saturday event at school, rushing home to tell their
mother about the good news.
"Mom, Mom!" the boys yelled.
"What is it?"
"Mom, you are going to love this."
"Love what?"
"Our school is putting on a real talent show, I say real because there will be talent scouts there."
"What are you serious? This could be my big chance. I don't know, maybe not, hum I don't think so."
"Mom, yeah as serious as a heart attack, and you can be in it, it's not just for kids, our parents can be in it too. Our school is trying to raise money for a new gym and equipment. And the scouts are sponsoring the event, because they are looking for raw talent. Mom you gotta try out."
Rose looked at Tommy, with tears that sat in her eyes, which
made her eyes sparkle like star-lights. She then turn back towards
her sons, and said.
"You two get ready for dinner."
"But Mom!"
"Don't but Mom me, go and get washed up for dinner."
The Boys looked at one another and walked sadly up the stairs
to their room.
"Man I thought, Mom would be more excited about this idea, then anyone else." Marty said.
"Marty, she was at first, but something turned her around, wonder what it was? You know Mom she loves to sing."
"Yeah, especially the way she sings around the house, she's sure to win the competition."
"Yeah, and she really don't need to sit on that talent of hers."
"Yeah, can you imagine, our Mom a super star! How great would that be?"
"So Marty, what do we do about it?"
"Well Calvin, we have to talk her in doing the show."
"And how do we do that?"
"We'll get Dad he can make Mom do anything."
"Yeah, and he loves the way Mom sings too."
"No, that's not going to work."
"Marty, why you say?"
"Are you kidding, lately Dad's is all about dad, and he is not into anything but his campaign."
"Come on Marty,, no matter how busy dad gets he would want to see mom happy, not only that she'll be helping the school raise money and that alone should help dad's campaign."
"You know Calvin, for a little kid, you sure got a lot up stairs. Yeah and this will be something that mom can boost about for years."
"Up stairs, Marty what do you mean up stairs?"
"Never mind, come on let's go and talk to dad."
Rose didn't bother Tommy about singing anymore, she knew
with talent scouts coming to the school's talent show; this would
not be a one time event, they were looking for eligible talent to go
on the road.
"Well, are you going in?"
"Why do I have to go in? It was your idea to ask dad for mom in the first place."
"But you are the oldest."
"But you need to go in because you are the youngest, and Dad likes you best."
"I'm not buying it, nope not shopping this time. Why don't we go in together?" Calvin suggested.
"Okay." Marty agreed.
Before going in, the boys first knocked on the door, so they
would not make their father angry about barging in, because doing
so might make them loose the purpose of being there in the first
place. When Tommy heard the knock on the door, his first thought
was it was Rose, coming to asked for this chance, when she knows
why she can't, because there will be talent scouts there, Tommy
embraced his self so they would not start arguing again.
"Come in." Tommy answered politely.
"Dad." The boys called together as they entered their
father home office. Tommy's eyes glowed, the gratifying moment
wasn't about singing.
"What is it my sons?" Tommy asked with sparkles in
his eyes, trying to show his innermost interested in his sons.
"Dad talk mom into doing the talent show." Calvin asked.
"Yeah I think she..." before Marty could finish his
sentence, Tommy's eyes grew furious and an evil glare stared into
the boys faces, ignorant is to why the sparkles gleam rapidly left
their father's eyes, the boys, said nothing else they just backed out
of their father's office quietly, quickly and swiftly, to wash up for
dinner.
Again silence swept through the Sheetz house expeditiously,
nether boy could understand their father's rage, so nether child said
a word at the dinner table.
