Rhysand-
I couldn't get into her mind Feyre's voice fills my head, not that I'm complaining.
Do you want me to try? I ask.
Sure, she replies. I hastily locate Celaena's mind. When I find it I dive in, but sure enough, there is a barrier. This barrier is different from other shields, so complex that even I can't get through it. I just want to protect my family. Trying not to startle her I question, Why don't you tell me how you can keep your mind from Daemati?
She seems unphased and answers I prefer not to say.
You have to or I- request you do so... Not letting a sound escape her lips she shares with me a memory. It acts as a sort of temporary peace offering.
A woman with dark black hair and scarlet lips stares at me - at Celaena. Celaena's body is lying on a bed of what feels like iron nails. Each prick was a reminder that her life was on the line, but it was bearable. That is until a large fae male with a wicked looking face began to press her further into the bed of nails. One limb at a time I could hear and feel the pain of my skin breaking again. The stone floor had a carpet spread of ruby now on it. "Ah ah ah you need to protect your mind better or else it happens again," The woman says, revelling in the pain. I'm brought back to reality, and I can feel my face paling.
Aelin-
I took a risk sharing that memory with the man. Arobynn would have beat me for that. In my current state, I need to not slip up.
"Rhys, what's wrong?" One of the males asks, his tone comes out more curious than concerned.
"Who was that?" He turns towards me, his eyes filled with... pity?
"Oh that was my aunt, isn't she the best?" I try to channel the Celaena that was in the glass castle, fighting to not be imprisoned.
"She's a monster!" Violet-eyes replies, startling us all. His voice booms over the camp.
"Truly one of a kind." I purr.
"You're coming with us." I get no say and am once again transported somewhere else with these strangers.
I'm taken aback by how similar violet-eyes teleportation is to Fenrys. When we get to wherever we are, I see a beautiful city. What I hoped Terrasan would look like one day. My facade slowly drops from my face, one feature at a time. Why am I doing this again? Running and hiding from the world is what Celaena does best. Facing it and being a hero is Aelin, right? I need to find my people and save them, I can't focus on my own self-pity.
Amren-
This girl looks so familiar and one single rhyme pops into my mind
The fairest eyes,
From legend old
Of brightest blue, ringed with goldProbably some silly thing but despite what I think I walk over to the girl and lift up her chin. Her eyes are wet and unseeing and it rips my gut apart, which has happened very few times. What adds to that is the fact that her eyes are indeed a beautiful shade of blue with a ring of gold around them. Something is nagging me about this girl but I just can't place my finger on it...
