"Wake up...come on you've got to wake up!" Was the sentence I was awoken to, Amata shaking me with a frenzy of fear, off in the distance an alarm could be heard. "Heh what a coincidence, I was just dreaming about you." I said in a low sleepy voice with a purely playful laugh. Amata looked away with a blush "What!? oh, Gross! Knock it off, this is serious!". Noting her serious voice I sat up, swinging my legs over the side of the bed I got to my feet. "My fathers' men are looking for you..they already killed Jonas. You've got to get out of here!" She continued motioning to the door. My eyes widened at what I heard..'they killed Jonas!?' I had known the man for many years of my life, him being a good friend of my Father made him an important person in my life coming right behind Amata whom I had known since a baby. Not giving me time to say anything she pressed on "Your dad..he left the Vault, my father thinks that Jonas helped him escape so he had his men...my God they killed him. They just beat him and beat him and wouldn't stop." Seeing the sheer horror on my friends' face I extended an arm to her shoulder "Oh my god, Amata...are you okay?" "Yeah. Don't worry about me, I'm just sorry that you had to find out like this, I know that Jonas was your friend. But we've got to go..now! My fathers' men will be here any minute!". Shaking my head in disbelief at the whole situation taking a deep breath I responded. "You're right; I can't stay here..but where will I go?" my gaze set onto the floor, multiple possibilities running through my head creating a seemingly endless vortex. "I will help you escape..I have a plan! There's a secret tunnel under my Fathers' desk that leads to the exit; use these to get into his office. Oh and one more thing..I stole my fathers' pistol, I hope that you won't need to use it, but you'd better take it just incase. I'll try to meet you at the exit, stay safe and goodluck!". Giving me a reassuring smile she shoved the keys and pistol into my hands, I brought her into a tight hug. "You best stay safe too, Amata.". I turned around and gathered my few personal belongings off of my desk, my baseball bat, mitt, a picture of my Dad and Me, and the issue of Grognak the Barbarian that Amata had gifted me all those years ago, by the time I had everything sorted out Amata was gone, I assumed that she had started her trek to the meeting place. Almost immediately upon exiting the room chaos imploded the fae's vision, Radroaches were everywhere alongside the dead bodies of fallen Vault Dwellers, a Security member came running down the halls. "There you are! This is all you and that idiotic father of yours!" withdrawing a security baton he neared me making me curse under my breath. Aiming the pistol at him he continued to move forwards, before I could process the situation an ear-piercing explosion filled the air followed by the guard's surprised stutter as he collapsed to the floor, in his chest was a new crimson hole. 'Oh God....did I- yes..I did.' my arm hurt like hell from the drawback of the gun, I had never shot a weapon before so it took me off guard. Bending down I took the armor off of the guard, and a few 10 mm rounds that had been in his pockets, these items would prove useful later, quickly I fought my way through the Vault taking out multiple guards and 'roaches in the process..slowly I began to adapt to the gun. I was almost to the Overseer's room when Butch ran towards me from down a hall "Please, you've got to help me! The roaches are attacking my Mum, Man, and it's dark so I..I can't go in there!" For once in my damn life Butch portrayed something other than cockiness, pure fear. I had every reason in the world not to help him..but I couldn't just sentence that poor woman to her death. "Alright...where is she?" "Oh! Thank you, thank you! You're the bestest friend that I've ever had! She's in the room down the hall.". I couldn't help but roll my eyes, of course /now/ he classified me as a 'friend' now that I could do something of pure interest to him, my mere kindness not being enough throughout our early childhood, shaking my head to clear my thoughts I took off down the hall, turning into the room there laid the woman; multiple 'roaches biting away at her,. Without hesitation I withdrew the gun and shot the oversized bugs off, Butch running in seconds later "Thank you, you saved my Ma! Here..I know it's not much but take my Tunnel Snakes jacket. As he took of the leather jacket and handed it to me I pushed his nose softly "No problem, 'Butchy'.". His eyes widened at the nickname, he only allowed his beloved mother to call him such a thing..but speaking that you'd just saved her he'd give you a pass this once. Chuckling softly I put the jacket on and continued my adventure to the Overseer's office. Finally the door to the office came into my view along with the voice of Amata that filled my ears making me practically burst into the room, to my sheer horror the Overseer was in Amata's face, a crazed look in his eyes whilst he interrogated her. "Be reasonable Amata..Officer Mack might enjoy this, but I don't. Just tell us where we can find your friend so we can talk to her. " "She's my /friend/...I was worried about her! what does she have to do with any of this anyway?" "Probably nothing which is why you need to tell me where she is so I can talk to her. Go ahead, Officer.". With that Officer Mack stepped forwards, raising his baton he prepared to strike Amata clear on the head, with all the energy I had I ran, unholstering my gun I shot the man in his upper right shoulder blade. Rage shone in my eyes, I couldn't bring myself to quit shooting at the now dead man, first he killed Jonas..but now he dared to hurt Amata?! A short cough from the Overseer made me tear my attention away from my mini frenzy. "Ahem there you are. I hope you're here to turn yourself in, Young Lady, You're already in enough trouble as it is..don't make it worse for yourself." "If you ever lay a hand on Amata like that again then I'll turn you into a shooting dummy just like your friend Mack over there.". A soft growl like noise escaped from my mouth, I wanted to kill the man right now but I knew that Amata would never forgive me if I did..even after what he had done. "I place the good of the Vault above everything; even my own paternal feelings. We must not allow sentiment to cloud our judgment! But I admire your protective instincts..very well, I give you my word that Amata will suffer no further due to your actions. Now then, If you really do care about Amata then you will see just how dangerous your father's actions were. Hand over your weapons and put an end to this situation,.don't become a traitor to the vault like your father.". He quickly rolled out in a matter of two minutes, shaking my head at what he was last said I sighed. "I guess I am a traitor then, just give me the password to your terminal so I can be on my way..I'll leave and you can go back to leading your perfect little vault. "Oh is that all? Can I get you anything else while you're here? You'll get nothing from me, I will die before I see the safety of the vault compromised again.".
