What if the statues in Greece and Rome are actually dead people covered in plaster, which is why they look so realistic?

~~~~~~~~~~
It is 404 B.C. and another citizen of Athens is dead. Stupid man thought it would be smart to challenge a guard to a sword fight.
And now it's time to turn his corpse into a statue.
The wound is first covered up so the statue won't be ruined because of it. The body is bent into the desired shape, and is later covered in plaster. After the plaster is dried, it is moved to a public location where everyone can see it.
To this day, nobody knows that the statues are corpses. It is probably the most well kept secret in history.
And a secret it shall stay.
