Chapter 16

Mercedes POV

" Kovar, calm down. " i replied in weariness

" Calm down?Calm Down?!" Kovar yells

I took in a Shakey breath before replying " Yes, Calm down. "

Kovar suddenly calms down and stares at me for awhile. " Alright, lets catch up Mia. I've missed you. " He replies

A whimper escapes my lips
"Just, just don't hurt me agian Kovar. "
I replied with sadness in my voice

Kovar's eyes softened a bit. " Okay " He whispers as he grabs my arm softly and pulls me into a hug.

There was knocking on my front door. Maybe it was Mason, he must have felt my emotions through the mate bond.

As if Kovar already knew that Mason was outside. he kissed my forehead
" Until next time Mia. " He replied as he leaves throughout the back door.

The banging on door gets harder and louder. " Mercedes " He shouts
I snap out of my daze and rush towards the door.

I unlocked the front door and see Mason staring at me with fear " Oh thank God your alright. I felt your fear throughout the mate bond, and I thought you were in some kind of trouble. Are you alright? " He replies

Mason steps back and smells the air
He's eyes darkened, almost pitch black. "Who was here " he growls out

" An ex boyfriend of mine came to visit me. " I replied honestly

" This late? " he asks in disbelief

" Yeah. What do you not believe me? " I asked

He doesn't reply. I shake my head and scoffed.

" You surly must not think I'm not having an affair with someone else Mason or do you? " I asked with a hint of anger

Agian no answer. I grabs his hand and reply " Go ahead and smells around my house. It's not like I had sex with him Mason. " I reply in anger

Mason does what he is told and walks around my house, Trying to smell any sent of Kovar. He stops all of a sudden.

" Okay everything checks out, I'm sorry " he apologizes

8:00 am

I felt a movement around my bed.
I immediately wake up and look around my room, Mason's phone was sitting on my night stand.

I was confused on why I felt movement on my bed, I got of the bed and yanked the covers off. It was a snake.

I screamed in pure terror

Mason's POV

I heard screaming from upstairs, I quickly rush towards our bedroom and she is standing on top of a couch that was placed inside her bedroom.

" Pieta what's wrong? " I asked

She jumps off the couch and runs towards me " there was a snake on the bed, when I woke up. " She replied as her body started to shake from from the fear that had passed on to her.

" Ahh! Snake on my foot!" Mercedes screamed

She kicks her food and sends the snake flying throughout the air, making it land outside.

I ran towards the window and looked down, the snake was injured.

" Is it dead? " Mercedes asked

" No " I reply

We watch as the snake slithered its way throughout the ground, and into a bush. I turned around and searched the bed for any remains or clues

There was a letter on the bed

Watch out Alpha Mason she's going to be mine one way or another.

A growls escapes my lips.
" Mercedes come with me. " I replied

" where are we going? " Mercedes asked

" Somewhere safe. " I confirm
