"Stormclaw, Stormclaw, Stormclaw," Oakclan chanted her name, as if she had just fed them rotten crowfood, even at her warrior ceremony, nobody liked her, that is, except for Adderfang. Adderfang had rescued her as a kit from a storm, her mother, and litter mates, dead. Adderfang had raised her in the clan, Stormclaw couldn't remember a time before Adderfang... before Oakclan, but everybody else could. Stormclaw was constantly haunted by shadows of a past that she didn't even know about. It is a lie to say that every cat despised her, for, there are some cats who bear a kinder soul than others, but, most do.

Stormclaw dispersed the sorry sight, that was her warrior ceremony, padding up the bough of the camp where the warriors made their nests, for, you see, Oakclan hunted in the densest territory of all four clans, Oakclan hunted on the ground, and, in the trees, and, thus, their camp was in the largest, oldest oak in their entire territory, many  huge branches spanned out from the reasonably short, main trunk, leaving a small clearing in between. Stormclaw padded all the way to the end of the large bough, where it split off into two smaller branches. Adderfang made her nest in between these branches, and had prepared a nest beside hers for Stormclaw. The light grey, tabby she-cat had followed her up the Warriors branch, settling into her nest as the moon reached its peak in the sky, she rested her warm hazel gaze on Stormclaw,
"Come on, this is your nest now, it doesn't matter what the other cats think."
"Tell me about when you found me, again," Stormclaw had heard this story a million times before, but she still loved to hear it over, and over again.
"...and then I saw her, your mother..."
"You're my mother," Stormclaw interrupted, resting her muzzle on the older cat's shoulder.

Morning light washed over the forest, Stormclaw woke, a dew covered leaf tickling her nose, Stormclaw lifted her head, opening her sleepy eyes. Adderfang was still sleeping beside her, her grey chest, slowly, rising and falling. Stormclaw rose to her feet, padding down the warriors branch, tip-toeing around sleeping warriors. As Stormclaw neared the end of the long bough, a tail lashed out in front of her, she skidded to a stop, digging her claws into the rough bark,
"Argh, don't step on my tail, you mouse brained... rogue," Thunderwing snapped, his whiskers twitching in annoyance, his golden, tabby fur standing on end.
"I'm not a rogue, I've been in this clan al... almost all my life, I'm an Oakclan warrior, and I don't care what you think," Her tail lashing, Stormclaw dashed down the tree, and out into the dense forest. Stormclaw crashed into a tree, stumbling back in shock, she found herself tumbling into the river which acted as the border between Oakclan and Streamclan. Stormclaw stumbled to her feet, her fur soaked.

Stormclaw looked around, wondering if any cat had seen her, she sat down at the edge of the river, her head aching from her reckless encounter with the tree. Stormclaw's vision began to blur in her left eye, a splotch of red dripping into her eyesight, and a sharp pang clawed at her face. Glancing at the tree she ran into, Stormclaw noticed a particularly sharp fragment of bark, dripping with red blood, how di... Stormclaw's vision clouded, she felt herself thud to the ground and roll into the river, no, you're stronger that this, she tried to kick, but, only found herself drifting into darkness.

"Stormclaw, Stormclaw!" Adderfang had seen the young warrior sprint off into the forest, knowing how reckless Stormclaw was when she was angry, Adderfang dashed after her, following her distinct scent trail. Adderfang followed the trail all the way to the river, first spotting the blood stained tree, then looking towards the river, finding blood slowly staining the water,
"Stormclaw," Adderfang raced to the edge of the river, spotting the red-brown form of Stormclaw and dragging her out of the water,
"Stormclaw, you're okay, you're a strong cat, remember that, don't give up... please, Stormclaw, you survived the storm... please," the grey cat whispered before rising to her feet and dragging the injured Stormclaw back to camp. Please, don't give up.

"A... Adderfang, Adderfang, where am I?" Adderfang had collapsed halfway to camp, too tired to continue dragging the limp form of Stormclaw,
"Adderfang, you'll... be... okay, I promise," Stormclaw blinked, her left eye was completely clouded over,
"Add... Adderfang.... I... I can't... se..." Stormclaw blacked out again, her head aching with the pressure of thought, blood washing down her face.

Stormclaw awoke, light washing into her vision, her left eye clouded, and pain searing through her face,
"Adderfang, Adderfang, are you okay," Stormclaw had fresh memories running through her mind of Adderfang, passed out, beside her,
"I'm okay, and so are you, Honeyflame and Hawkfur found us, you're in the medicine den now," Adderfang's kind face swept into her vision, an Stormclaw breathed a sigh of relief. Honeyflame approached, the medicine cat's gold-ginger fur glowing in the morning sunlight,
"Just hold still Stormclaw, I need to redress your wounds, you lost a lot of blood, and, on top of that, you almost drowned,"
"Ugh, go ahead," Stormclaw flinched as Honeyflame removed the old poultice and replaced it with a fresh round of stinging herbs, a drop of blood trickling down her face. After the medicine cat was well finished, Stormclaw heaved to her paws and left the den, which was a hollowed out area under the roots of the tree,
"I'm going for a walk."
"That might not be such a good ide..." Honeyflame's words were swept away by the wind, as Stormclaw padded further away, into the undergrowth.

Why couldn't I get a scar from a battle or something, like other cats, instead, I had to go and run into a tree, what'll they think of me now!
"Stormclaw, wait up," an annoying voice hit her ears, Thunderwing, great.
"What do you want," Stormclaw turned on the golden tom.
"Adderfang told me to go with you, wouldn't want you running into another tree or anything," Stormclaw huffed,
"Wow, very funny," She stormed off, her light blue eyes, glinting in annoyance, of all the cats, he is the most mouse-brained tom I have ever met.
"Wait, Stormclaw, I... I just want to say sorry, I didn't mean to upset you, yesterday... you kinda, stepped on my tail," Thunderwing glanced at his paws, his words full of embarrassment.
"I suppose Adderfang told you to say that."
"No," the tom retaliated, Stormclaw could see that he was earnest,
"Okay then, I'll forgive you... on one condition."
"What?"
"Go away," Stormclaw stormed off, leaving the tom speechless behind her.
Thunderwing sighed, he was deputy of Oakclan, he didn't need to be apologising to this ill-mannered she-cat.
