Crystal POV:

That one person at my doorstep wasn't Dad. Not Daniel. Not even his infuriating girlfriend, Holly. Thank the Lord that it was a decent person and not an offspring of hell. But the person who had a serious crush on me.

Ricky.

Who knew that one name could bring memories of guilt and rejection and make me feel that there was a bottomless pit that I  was falling into.

"Hi, Da-"

"Ricky? What are you doing here?" I asked casually.

Ricky smiled whilst showing off his glistening white pearls. He leaned on my oak door with his elbow balancing weight. His veins actually showed on his tan arms from his white t-shirt. jean legs looked a bit unsteady though. He looked as if he was going to fall right then and there.

I laughed silently to myself.

I put my hands on my hips while asking him, "So, what are you here for? That's what I was asking you."

He cocked his tanned head to the side for a bit, then did something that I found a bit shocking. He ran through his dark brown hair. Smiling a bit, he went and grabbed me by the waist with ease. He uttered in a deep, alluring voice, "To see a beautiful girl like you."

I looked at him with a half surprised half adorn look while a shiver travelled down my spine. His hand let go of my waist and reached my hand whilst rubbing circles on the back of it. My heart skipped a bit and thought all of this sweet... For about two seconds. I suddenly realised what he was doing and pulled away from his hand.

It felt nice but they didn't feel right. He was doing this to get what he wanted. He might have liked me but this was way too far.

"Alright, tell me the truth. What is this about?" I demanded.

"Oh, alright. The Dark Lords wanted the Priez Book from you."

"The answer is no, Ricky. Now you have to leave."

"Not until I have the book!" Ricky replied firmly.

"What is going on?" Nick pounded down the hallway with a quarter of a burger in his hand.

Ricky didn't want to believe that all this was happening. He was being rejected, yet again, and Daniel would now make his life a living nightmare.

"I need you to do this Crissy. Please..." Ricky pleaded and knelt down to the floor.

"For the sake of the Filli. I'm sorry Ricky but no,  I cannot abandon my party's intentions just for a guy that likes me. I know you've gotten rejected so many times and I feel guilty for that but this situation is something that I definitely won't abandon."

"Fine, I give in!" Ricky threw his hands up in frustration whilst slamming the door HARD  on his way out. A stream of wind flew through the door and nearly knocked Nick and me off of their feet.

"Woah, was that Ricky I saw?" Ron yelled out as he ran to where Nick was.

"Guys..." I lowered my voice to the point where it sounded dangerously important to mention.

"I think it's time to show you what I was talking about." My eyes dulled to the colour of a dead tree. I was dead serious about this matter.

"I trust you guys with this and you promise that you will not speak of this matter again until it is appropriate. Will you?" The edge in my voice grew at a fast pace as the matter became more serious.

"Wait." I crept to the door and looked through a tiny window of it. I expected there to be either Daniel or Ricky. I was relieved to know that neither was stalling by my house and I could safely tell my friends of a sacred item. Because this... was the object that I was entrusted with. I couldn't let it fall into the wrong hands.
