"It's gonna be alright baby."
He whispers so lightly that it's almost peaceful. But there's something off about his voice. It's deep and smooth. It's... Familiar.
"Okay, I'm ready." I say as I stare up at him, or what would be him if there wasn't a shadow covering his face. The moonlight coming from the window beside my bed isn't enough for me to make out any detail. So I shut my eyes. I try and picture a face to match the sound of his voice, but I just can't seem to find one. I open my eyes again just in time to see him bringing the pillow down over my face. Before I can let out a scream everything goes black.

I wake up covered in sweat. The clock says 3:20. I have woken up at this exact time every night three times this week. And from the same dream! Well, almost. The first time, I managed to thrash around for what seemed like hours before I woke up, knocking over my bedside lamp in the process. The second time, only a blood curdling scream escaped me before the pillow engulfed my entire being. This man obviously wants to kill me, whoever he is. And I almost let him before I come to my senses! I can't stop thinking about this dream. I should try for the sake of having school in the morning and just go back to sleep, but that seems nearly impossible with the speed my heart continues to race at. So instead, I climb out of bed and tiptoe down the stairs to the kitchen. Searching the fridge for something to drink was what I had in mind, but something outside the living room window catches my eye and I can't help but start towards it. Slowly, I peek around the corner. What I see startles me and I stumble backwards onto the couch. It was only the neighbors cat running from the bushes. I close my eyes, and try keep my heart from beating right out of my chest.
