It's my first day at a new school. I hear the sound of my alarm, pounding on my head. Thump, thump, thump... I lie in bed wondering what people will think of me, will they like me? Hate me? What will be their first impression? Wonderful, horrible thoughts race through my head as I just lie there. "Chey!" I hear my mother yell at me. "I'll be down in a few" I reply back, still lying in bed. About 5 minutes later I decide to wake up. I walk downstairs and smell breakfast burning. "My favourite" I say sarcastically to my mom. "You're welcome sweetie. How are you feeling about your first day?! Do you want me to drive you?!" She says anxiously. "There is absolutely no way I'm getting dropped off on my first day of school, by my mom, in a mini van" I whisper to myself. I run upstairs trying to avoid the question. I turn on the tap in the shower, I get it and shut my eyes. After a while I get out and dry off. I blow dry my hair and do my makeup. I decided to go with a natural look today. I get dressed. I put on a white lace-up shirt with some black jeans, I then get my favourite pair of vans. I straighten my hair and leave it down. "Bye mom!" I say as I run down the stairs. I slammed the door shut and start walking to school. "I love this neighbourhood" I say to myself. It's so nice, and quiet, and everybody just seems so friendly. I get to the front of my new school and I take a deep breath. "Here we go" I say, as I walk into the school. I walk around and realize something is very off. Nobody is here. I walk around a little longer and I see a boy standing a few feet in front of me. I guess he seen me first because he welcomes me by saying a simple "hello" with a smile. I smile back and introduce myself. "Hey, my name is Cheyanne but most people call me chey..." I say awkwardly. "Oh and my name is Jacob" he says back. "So, where is everyone" I ask. I couldn't pay attention to what Jacob said. All I could focus on was his eyes. His blue, dreamy eyes. "Well I got to go now" I say as I realize I've been staring at him this entire time, and didn't hear a thing he said. I turn to the other direction and walk away as fast as I can not trying to make it obvious.
