Warning, mentions of rape, kidnappings, beatings, racism, sexism, almost every isue except mental illnesses. Also, foul language is used.

I wrote this when I was thirteen. Enjoy.

I hate it when people use the term 'angry feminist', as if to diminish the meaning or power of our words. Or when people try to say that they are a feminist, but don't support Black Lives Matter. Fighting for one groups equality without supporting the others is hypocritical. The issues of race and sex are inseparable. So, why do people constantly try to divide them? For a black woman, the oppression she receives from her skin and the fact that she is a  woman are one in the same.

The question isn't

"Why am I angry?" It's

"Why aren't you?"

Race

Is just

Your skin.

Your heritage,

Family. Kin.

Sex

Is just what

Reproductive system

You have.

Gender

Is just an

Idea.

Words to describe you.

Ways for society

To oppress you, with

Stereotypes. Expectations.

Religion

Is just what you

Believe.

What gets you

Through the day.

Guides you.

Income

Is just money.

How you pay for

Food.

A house.

Clothing.

Why is this so hard?!?!?

My seven year old cousin and

Four year old sister understand this

Better than most.

Children don't care about

Boys in dresses.

Women in power.

Two moms or

Two dads.

Skin color.

Religion.

Sex.

Gender.

Girls in blue.

Boys in pink.

Men being feminine.

Women being masculine.

THEY DON'T CARE!!
