I wake up to my alarm buzzing in my ear. I throw my arm to where I hope the off button is, and thankfully the room turns silent. I walk to my bathroom and brush my teeth, then put my hair into a messy bun. I slip on a pair of high-waisted shorts and a white high-low tank top with an infinity sign on it.
Today is the day. I dont want to do it, but I need to. Since I am going to Northwestern in the fall, I need to prepare. And the first on my list, is to break up with Ashton. I really dont want to, but I have heard nothing but bad stories about long-distance relationships.
I grab some breakfast and head out the door. I reach the bus stop and see Mona.
"Hey Mona!" I say with a smile.
"Hey Lil!" she says, but not as excitedly as normal. Ugh. I don't even want to think about it.
"No" I say looking at her seriously.
"Its just...Im afraid that I will lose you"
"Mona! You are my best friend and I wouldn't trade you for the world. I will text you every day. Promise!" I say, trying to cheer her up.
"Ok" she says, a little more confidently.
The bus comes and I hop on and walk down the isle to the very back, my normal spot. I take out my iPhone 5c from my small Coach purse. I need to relax, so I decide to listen to music. I pull out my earphones and I put my music on shuffle, and Better Than Words comes on. I smile and close my eyes and think about just life in general, and how easy it would be if I wasn't going out with the love of my lofe and I had to move away.
The bus stops and I look out the window and see Kendall High.
