The story takes place right after MKX, so it's set on the alternate timeline, but it will also feature characters and races who were present on the original timeline along with elements that take inspiration from MK:Deception and Armageddon so it's recommended that you, the reader, are versed the MK Lore. If you didn't, reading this book will surely spoil you some things.
The story will also have many flashbacks which will narrate some of the events that took place before and after Shao Kahn and Shinnok's invasions, so the plot might get a bit chaotic.
New characters will also be introduced, whose appearances might be familiar for those who follow me on Twitter.
Last but not least, I would like to inform you that English is not my native language, so I might make some grammatical errors here and there. If that happens, please correct me and I will fix that.
