There are a few things that you should know before you read this little story that you hold in your delicate hands. You should know that 1) I am as uninteresting as a person can be, and if you are looking for a story where the protagonist is some hero of the day; hunky and chunky in all the right places and some next-level Benedict Cumberbatch, then put this book down because that is not me; 2) I am extremely sarcastic and although this may not come through on paper I promise you that I am not a total ass as it may come across, people actually like me. For some reason. Finally, 3) This is the story of how an exceptionally fascinating and extraordinary girl came into my paper world and turned black-ink scratchings into glorious water colours of art that would make even Picasso green with envy.
This is the story of how I met Lily Summer and how she turned my life around in one week.
That day started like just about every other. In fact, just about every day of mine did. Ask yourself, "what did I do yesterday?", "what did I do the day before that?", "and the day before that?" and so on and I guarantee you will find nothing outstanding in each and every one of those days because that is how life is. Days pass us by like birds in the sky, each one of them precious yet we barely notice them unless we stop for a moment to actually take in their beauty. And then what? We get bored. That's life. Days are repeats, routines, and most importantly days are boring. That is, until I met her. The day that everything changed and she flipped my world around.
You'd like Lily, everybody did.
