Sam's POV

"I can't keep doing this," I said, sitting in the parking lot with Ruby. "It's wrong."

"You're still caught up on Orion, aren't you?" She replied, crossing her arms. "Aren't you?"

"Of course I am, what did you expect? I was falling for her, and not like how I feel for Salem. I was interested in Salem because she was the first girl around after Jess. I was interested in Orion because she was actually interesting to me. I liked her," I said, pushing hair out of my face. "Now I knocked her up, and pushed her away, but here you are, and I've been—"

"Stop, okay?" Ruby said, getting up and sitting in my lap. "I get it, you were interested in her. But if you were that interested in her, would you have been with me since I showed up the first time?"

"You came to me," I gulped.

"But you didn't push me away," Ruby smiled, kissing my cheek. "Not to mention, the things I do for you.."

"About that.. why can't we tell Dean?"

Ruby raised her eyebrow as if the answer was obvious. "You want your brother to know you're drinking demon blood?"

"Not that part!" I said, because deep down I knew that was wrong. That was so, so wrong. "I mean the part that I've been practicing my powers, getting stronger."

"Because the blood is making you stronger. Not to mention, you tihnk he's cool with you practicing anyway? He thinks they're freaky."

"So? Salem was Queen of Hell and they're still together." I argued, "And I'm his brother. It should be—"

"We're not telling anyone anything," She said, putting her finger lightly on my lips. "Okay? But I have something to tell you.." I gave her a look and she shook her head, "Dean can't be saved."

"How did you find out?" I asked, feeling a weight drop on my chest.

She rubbed the back of her neck, "Uh, about that.. I kinda always knew.."

"Excuse me?"

"Look, it was the only way I could get to you.. Lilith holds deals, and she never lets them go. No matter what." Ruby said. "Don't be mad at me, Sammy."

"Don't call me that," I snapped.

She put her hands on my cheeks and looked me in the eyes, "Don't be mad at me."

"My brother is dying!"

"Oh please, Winchesters' never really die," Ruby smiled.

I couldn't help it, so I smiled. "You're right."

Orion's POV

I woke up in the middle of the night, swearing there was somebody besides Tina in the room with me. I quickly turned on the light, but there was nobody there. It as weird, because the presence didn't feel threatening. I actually felt more safe than I ever had before.

Tina pulled her pillow over her face and muttered, "What are you doing? Turn the damn light off."

"Okay, sorry," I said, turning it off. For a quick second, I heard the flapping of wings, and I didn't feel safe anymore.

I never actually went back to sleep, so as soon as light peeked through the curtains, I was heading downstairs. Louise was in the kitchen area, making pancakes. I walked up behind her and asked, "Can I help?"

"Oh, Emily, you scared me." She laughed, "Of course you can help."

At first I was like, who the hell is Emily? But then I remembered I had gone all paranoid-Dean-style and given her a fake name. I helped her flip pancakes, and eventually the other girls started coming down the stairs as well.

"Did you hire new help?" the first one asked. She was a short girl with black hair and brown eyes.

"No, this is Emily, she'll be staying with us for a bit," Louise smiled. "Emily, this is Jade."

Jade gave me a smile and I handed her a plate of pancakes. she thanked me and I sat down beside her, digging into the first home cooked thing I'd eaten in at least a year.

Gradually, all the other girls came down. I met Jessie, Brittney, Lean, and Maia. Tina came down and gave me a dirty look, probably because I had woken her up in the middle of the night. Lastly, a little girl came down the stairs. She had long blonde hair and blue eyes, with a skip in her step and a toothy smile.

She made me very, very uneasy.

After breakfast, I decided to go for a walk, and get a feel for the area. There was a high school, a few little convient stores, a tiny mall, and a police station. It was such a small town, and I thought I'd be bored. Until I saw something interesting.

A guy in his forties with scruff and an antipossesion symbol tattooed on the side of his neck.

I walked over and leaned on the bus stop sign he was standing beside. I smirked, "Nice tattoo."

"You think so?" He asked, uninterested, probably thinking I had no idea what it meant.

"Yeah," I nodded, lifting up my shirt and showing my hip, "I've got one too."

He raised an eyebrow and grinned, "So you do." Next thing I knew, we were sitting in a coffee shop, talking about hunting.

"Your brother ate your parents?" He laughed after hearing my story. "And you've been hunting ever since you were ten.. all by yourself? That's impressive."

"Yeah, so what about you?" I asked, sipping at coffee that was way too hot. "You look like you've been doing it for a while."

"My wife was killed my a demon named Yellow Eyes, and shortly after I found out my daughter wasn't.. completely human." He said, looking conflicted. "I'm actually looking for her now, but she did a good job making herself invisible." He nodded, looking both annoyed and proud about it. He stuck out his hand, "James Ifreann."

"Orion Brit," I nodded, shaking his hand. "So how old is your daughter?"

"She should be twenty two now," He laughed. "I haven't seen her in so many years though, I don't know what I'm going to do when I find her."

"Oh yeah? You get separated on a case or something?" I asked, being really nosy.

"You could say that," He chuckled sadly. "I just had to disappear for a while to keep her safe. I know that doesn't make much sense, but I had to do it.. She's safe now, I'm sure. She's with some really great guys that are looking after her. Their father was a great man and—"

"Wait a second," I said, "You've got to be kidding me."

"What?"

"You're not serious." I said, shaking my head, "No way."

"What the hell are you talking about?" He said, getting very suspicious very quickly.

I leaned in closer and asked quietly, "Are you Salem's dad?"

His face went absent of color and he stuttered out, "How do you know my daughter?"

I laughed nervously, "It's kind of a funny story.."

It wasn't really a funny story at all, now that I thought about it. But I told him everything, starting with me trying to stab her.
